good morning all -- i don't see a thread yet so once again i'll step on the captains toes :rolleyes1 seriously, i wanted to close our week 3 thread and i'm heading out here shortly....

my WI was a bust -- technically i'm up .4 lb; to me that is a maintain and i'm bummed. i have been watching what i eat...i'll just keep on keepin' on....

i'm wondering if AF is on the road to my house tho:confused3

I am leaving sunday for a whirlwind trip to WDW -- my DH has a conference at GF and i get to tag along! i may not be on the boards much at all until next Thurs-Fri so remember I'm thinking of everyone and cheering YOU on!

Well, my weight is unchanged (bummer), and I bailed on the gym this morning. I'm thinking that I might go tonight....but I have a very poor track record when I think such things. I've increased my workout, and I'm stiff. DD says I'm just plain old. Don't you love teens.

I took the "real age" quiz. I'm 4 years younger than my chronological age, and it said I should lose weight (NO!) and work on flexibility. Didn't I know that already?

Ah well...a busy day is ahead.

Good morning everyone!! I am up a pound this week. Sorry!!! But I am down for my school weigh in on Mon. I just have to make it through the weekend. It seems like that is my mantra this days, make it through the weekend. Make it through the weekend! Hope you all have a great day, I have to finish getting the munchkins ready for school!:hippie:

I am also up one pound this week. Late night snacking has been awful, but now that it's this fun time of the month, I'm going to do better.

Ohmom- Sorry you had a gain, but with you friend, it's probably just fluid and it will be gone next week. Have a wonderful trip. The GF must just be amazing.

kcashner- Maintaining is better than a gain. Slow and steady will get us there.

RhondaL- Sorry you had a gain. It's so hard sometimes, but if we don't give up, we will get there.

I have been 30 pounds heavier than I am right now, and I try to be positive, and even though it is a struggle, I'm not going to gain that back, plus another 20 like I've done in the past. It is a life time commitment, and I'm going to stick with it, even with the ups and downs. We all can do this!!

Go red team!! Lets rock this challenge in October!!!

I lost 1.5 pounds this week.

Good luck to everyone on their weigh-ins this week!:cheer2:

Well like I posted on Sunday, I am up .2 for week 3. It is hard to know how hard I am working and not see the results. But I am continuing to carefully watch what I am eating, getting my exercise in and drinking plenty of fluids.

Don't forget to send your weight into Brenda (Dare2Dream) as it is only counts for the challange if she gets the offical word from you. Posting on the tread is not "official."

Good Luck everyone.

Question of the day - Friday:

What can you do to make it (losing weight) easier?
(Based on Thursday's question - What is the hardest part about losing weight?)

Week 4! I'm down 1 pound this week. It was a struggle, and a surprise to see the scale move. There have been too many temptations this week, and I didn't do well at walking away from them.

We're all winners whether no matter what the scale says this week. We're all holding ourselves accountable by posting here. We're all working towards bettering ourselves. Just keep yourself focused on your goal, and it will come together!

My real age test told me I am a year older than I am. Most of what needs to be improved is my diet. I also need to know my cholesterol and blood pressure numbers. I have my last cholesterol tests around here somewhere...I just didn't dig them out to do the test. I also should up my strength training and stretch more. I need to lose weight. (really!?!?!?) Some of the things that have helped my age are my heart rate, walking, and I'm an ex-smoker. There are more, but those are three things that I have done this year or improved upon. So I'd hate to see what my age would be had I done the test a year ago.

How does everyone feel they'll do on the challenges this week? I think my biggest challenge will be drinking water.

If I could learn to say NO, that would fix the problem. Saying no to goodies brought in to work, no to desserts at my Mom's, say no to the drive thru, no to putting foods I know I'll eat too much of in my grocery cart. It's all about making better choices for myself and my family.

I am down 3 lbs! Very excited! I have been doing more in the gym and eating more veggies this week!

Sarah

Ok so my chronilogical age is 30.3 and my "real age" is 33.9. To help that I will try to stop talking on my cell while driving...I know, I know..., lose weight, and try to remember to floss my teeth more often! I may also try to find a better vitamin E and C supplement.

I have had a multivamin and a bottle of water already this morning and plan to go the gym tonight. I will also park in the farthest spot available today!

Have a great day!

Sarah

Sorry team I am up one pound today. Its been a rough week. I am hoping its water weight.:lmao:

Hi guys,

I'm down 2.4 this week. Pleased.

Hey Molli,

Have fun at WDW. I'm so envious. And I like the maintain thought. It is. The scale is so frustrating at times. I know this is TMI but oh well. I can eat something that doesn't agree with me and be up 3 pounds. So .4 is nothing. Have a wonderful week,

Lisa

No bummer. Maintain is good. I find with working out that a definite schedule helps me. I do six days on and then two days off. I believe in rest days - strongly. So when it's day four or so I know I almost there and just say do it you're close to your days off - do it. Four years younger - yeah!

No sorry Rhonda. We are a team. And probably every one of us, accept those weirdos:lmao: :scared1: ;) , will post a gain at some point. I call them weirdos in jest. We had a few in January's BL who posted a loss every week. I was like "what???" when Brenda gave us those stats.

I have been 30 pounds heavier than I am right now, and I try to be positive, and even though it is a struggle, I'm not going to gain that back, plus another 20 like I've done in the past. Love this mikamah. Love this  . One pound is nothing. On to another day - another week.

I lost 1.5 pounds this week.

Yeah Melisa.

A maintain Christa. A maintain. And you've been so successful. And I know close to your goal. So it can get frustrating, eh? Hang in there successful girl. :lovestruc

Question of the day - Friday:

What can you do to make it (losing weight) easier?
(Based on Thursday's question - What is the hardest part about losing weight?)

You know what. I thought of this question in a weird way. How I make it easier is making sure that I am being realistic for life. Ie. there are times that I say to myself - eat that chocolate Lisa- eat that samosa - eat that gyros etc etc. Do it. Because if I'm eating for life I have to learn how to eat it now while I'm getting there. I ask myself can you keep up what you're doing for life? If not, make sure you make changes even if that slows down the weight loss. So in a weird way that's how I make it all easier.

Week 4! I'm down 1 pound this week. It was a struggle, and a surprise to see the scale move. There have been too many temptations this week, and I didn't do well at walking away from them.

Way to go Sarah. :yay: . Here's a dance for you - :dance3:

Sorry team I am up one pound today. Its been a rough week. I am hoping its water weight.:lmao:

No sorry neonurse. No sorry. Team red. We are a team.

Sorry you had a rough week (Im talking life not the scale). On to another week. Hope life is better this week. .

Lisa

Just a reminder to give your weight to Brenda because I just remembered to do it.

Almost forgot. So easy to forget.

Lisa

Just a quick visit to say "hi" and wishing all success in the upcoming week! I'll be participating in the COW. Had a good week this past week - down 3 pounds since last week. Wahoo!

Well I'm down from 197.2 to 196 so thats what 1.2 lbs lost. YAY! I worked out at the gym for the first time today and actually liked it. They have cable hooked up to the treadmills so if you bring headphones you can watch tv while you walk.

Question of the day - Friday:

What can you do to make it (losing weight) easier?
(Based on Thursday's question - What is the hardest part about losing weight?)

I just have to keep myself in check and when there is a time where I have to have a snack I'll make it a healthy one.

Hi Everyone!

I just got back from Disney and much to my surprise, I saw I was the #1 loser for the red team last week! WooHoo!!! Yay me!! Unfortunately, I wasn't around to bask in all the kind words - but thanks to everyone who mentioned it. It's always nice to get encouragement from friends!

This week is going to be a different story. I'm down 0.1 pounds this week. Not bad considering I've been in Disney and then banished from exercise since Tuesday for a skin lesion thingy (it sounds awful, and it looks awful, but it's really not). So, Disney food, no exercise - I figure not gaining is a huge accomplishment. I'm hoping to be cleared for exercise again by Wednesday.

Question of the day - Friday:
What can you do to make it (losing weight) easier?

Hmmmm... I think for me it's to really think about something before I eat it. I have these awesome ice cream sandwiches in the freezer for my niece. She loves them - and her mom says they're too expensive. Well, me - subscribing to the "why do other people have kids is it's not for me to spoil them" theory - tries to always keep them on hand. Last night I wanted something for dessert. Hubby reminded me that we had them, so I went to get one. I was just about to open it, when I realized I didn't really want that. The old me would want it - 'cause it tastes awesome! - but I would be happier with just a Hershey's kiss. Just something sweet, but not something filling. If I really pay attention to what I want, instead of what I'm in the habit of wanting or what I used to want, this will be so much easier.

Has everyone read the challenge for this week? I think I'll do ok, except for the park far away one. There's two issues with that for me. One, I can hardly walk because of the thingy (yes - that's a scientific term!:) ) and, since I work at home, I literally go no where. Oh well, I'll just have to get all the points for everything else.

Hope everyone has a great week! Go Red Team!

(Based on Thursday's question - What is the hardest part about losing weight?)
I'm really want to take part more in the thread this week with the questions. For me, I could make it easier by consciously thinking about why I'm going to get something to eat. After my ww meeting this week, I looked back on last week and figured out why I overate so much, and it was stress from a misbehaving child, boredom/ tiredness watching tv at night. I find if I want to watch something, but I start falling asleep, I'll get up and eat. This week, I'm going to get up and have a cup of tea, or just give in and go to bed. No more mindless snacking.

Congrats to all our Red losers, Lisaviolet, Pickles, Mickey magic, charitylynn, sahbushka, Melisa1, and IlliniMouse!!! Keep up the great work!!

MickeyMagic- What is the COW? Sounds interesting. Have fun and good luck. eta: Just finished reading last weeks thread, and I'm gonna do the cow too!!! Have fun everyone!!

I'm down 3 pounds from last week. :cool1:

Since I had a gain the first week, I am now officially down 1.6 (I think) from when we started. So not bad. I'm pleased I am finally out of the 290's (huge number, I know, but it's been higher!), and now just need to focus on keeping things together and not going back up again.

Question of the day - Friday:

What can you do to make it (losing weight) easier?
(Based on Thursday's question - What is the hardest part about losing weight?)
I know accountability is huge for me, as is keeping my emotions in check. In past challenges when I have at least read posts daily, I have done so much better. I really need that extra emotional support to stay focussed.

I'm down 3.6 pounds this week. Yipee!!! I'm hoping next week I'll be able to get my 50 pound clippie but it may be a stretch to lose another 3 pounds. No matter, I know I'll get it sooner or later.

(Based on Thursday's question - What is the hardest part about losing weight?)

For me this would be not beating myself up if I decide to splurge and eat something like a piece of pizza or have some "real" ice cream, etc. I'm getting better about this but still find myself mentally scolding myself and making myself feel bad when I go off plan just a little.
