WOW, can you believe we are already at week 9? We have been going at this for 2 months! Remember the excitement you had when this started? If you are having some challenges, or struggles, think back to that optimistic excitement and think of all the possibilities! :goodvibes

As always please make sure to weigh in today and PM your weight and what team you are on to dare2dream or email to brenda@kbelectric.biz. If using email please also include your DIS screen name.

A new COW is up... All the details are here...http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2002305

But here too is a handy list of the next challenge:

1 Stretch for at least 5 minutes after working out (5 points a day- max 30)

2 Taste something new from each food group such as a new fruit or type of fish (10 points for each food group tasted) (bread, dairy, fruit/veggie, protein/meat) and tell the group (max 40 points)

3 Get involved- With the holidays fast approaching, sign up to help out your school, religious organization, or favorite charity. Research shows that you get a boost from doing so in many ways! (10 points)

4 Call or visit an old friend you haven't seen in a while (10 points)

5 Discuss with the group ways to eat healthy even when there is no time to cook (10 points)

And lets not forget our QOTD!
Friday - What is your favorite healthy/low cal/'on plan' cold weather recipe/food?

Have a great week everyone!!!

Just checking in... I maintained this week. I guess that is good considering how much in the "blues" I was these last 2 weeks. But I am determined to loose for next week. I plan on harnessing that excited energy.

PLUS I have a big incentive. For DH's work if you meet certain criteria you get $400 by the end of the year. I still have a chance, it will take everything I have to accomplish it, but if I work really hard between now and the end of the year, I have a chance at getting that $$$. And you know what I would do with it? But a camera to use next year at Disneyland!!!

Checking in - I lost .4 this week. I'm down to 167.8. Keeping to move. I don't think I posted at all this week. I promise to do better next week.

I'll post more tonight!

Hi everyone, hope you all had a good week. I lost 3 pounds, I'm right there with you Melanie, now at 164. I worked really hard these last few nights walking 2 miles on the treadmill and watching my portion sizes all week. It was very tough at times, but it was all worth it this morning when I stepped on the scales.

Keep it up Blue - Lisa.

Hi everybody! I only lost .5 pounds this week but I'll take it. I wasn't very vigilant. I will try to do better this week. I really don't have a favorite on plan food for the winter months. Maybe I should look for some.:goodvibes

Sorry I haven't been around much. I have been working really hard to start a Brownie troop for my daughter. We have had a few snags. Hopefully we will have a parents meeting next week and can get started. I'm hoping this will occupy some of my lazy wintertime loafing around.

I saw the deal that Disney is offering for the first half of next year and will put a deposit down in the next few days. We have been dreaming of staying at the Poly for years and this just might be our chance. :woohoo:

I hope that everyone has a wonderful weight-loss week!

Take care,

Leanne

Well, the week went by and I wasn't on very much. I did lose 1 pd this week, I'll take it considering the week I had. I didn't do badly on my eating, it was just a very stressful one with several family things going on. I think a few days I probably didn't get enough calories in. I'm out of town scrapbooking this weekend but have been faithfully drinking my water and really watching what I'm eating. Went for a nice walk with a group of ladies yesterday too.

I did report in 70 pts for the COW last week too.

I will check back in once I'm home tomorrow or Monday. Have a great rest of the weekend and let's all make it a good one!!!

I'm down 1.8 and had a great week for how I feel inside! I feel so proud of myself so please forgive me for tooting my horn a little. I tried 3 new exercise things this week including a Zumba class yesterday. I may have been the heaviest, most out of shape and out of step person there - but I had a great time and can not wait until next week to take it again. I know I have posted here about how I hate to exercise but I was drenched from head to toe and didn't feel like I was "exercising".

Has any one else tried something that they love and had fun doing?

Lisa

Congratulations Lisa with your exercise. Good for you with the Zumba, anything that doesn't feel like you are doing exercise and you are having fun - is great. I really made myself get on the treadmill this week. My DH looked at me this morning after my 2 mile walk, and said "yuck" - I like you was dripping with sweat. I felt so much better after I had finished. Keep it up - Lisa.

Some at church this morning noticed my weight loss. I'm only 11 pounds lighter, but it makes me feel good to know that my hard work is showing, I am starting to believe that this is possible! Hope everyone has a good Sunday - Lisa.

Lisa - That had to feel good (the people at church who noticed) - congrats on your overall loss and exercise habits!

Tammy - Great job - a scarpbooking weekend? That sounds like fun

Leanne - Great job - and congrats on the Brownie troop - I've recently agreed to be a co-leader for my daughters Junior troop so I understand how difficult it can be to get things off the ground - good luck with it though

Melanie - wow! great job - hope you have a good week

Vija-you CAN DO IT! Maintaining is certainly better than gaining. And - what a great incentive! (The $$ for a camera) - I'm sorry you've had the blues lately:hug: -

Have a great week everyone! I know we can do it together!

Lisa

PS - Anyone want to talk about the holidays and plans for success or am I uttering dirty words now?:rolleyes1

I am seriously struggling every single day and the dreaded holiday season will soon be here.

Lisa we do need to help each other through the holidays. Save your thoughts for now. We will have a holidays QOTD later this week so stay tuned.

Tomorrow is a new day and I HAVE to get back on program. Right now I am failing miserably and of course that makes me eat. Well I guess it doesn't really MAKE me eat. I chose to cope by eating. This foolishness has GOT to stop.

I miss all our blue team chatter. I am a lurker but I love coming on here and seeing everyone encouraging each other. Your words mean a lot to me even though they are not for me. I am glad we have a place to come and help each other and celebrate our victories.

This is so hard and I am glad to be a part of a group of determined women that are sticking with this challenge even though it is getting harder. Each day is a new clean slate of food and exercise choices for us. Some days it is easy to make the wise choices, other days it is much harder. Making that conscious effort each day to make the best choices is the only way to lose this weight. Let's celebrate our daily victories this week and work to have the best Blue week possible.

Tomorrow, Monday. I will 1-drink 8 cups of water 2-exercise 60 minutes and 3-stay perfectly OP. I CAN do it and I WILL do it.

For the QotD, I would have to say mine is homemade soup.

Hi everyone,

So the weekend was not too good... (slinks away in shame) the boys were away for the weekend and the girls had movie theater popcorn, and snacks and too much more....

So here's to a new day!:thumbsup2

As far as the QOTD goes, when I get into scrapbooking, the time flies by really fast, but I am not always scrapbooking. Oddly enough, cleaning and talking on the phone (often simultaneously) will keep me away from snacking. I wouldn't say cleaning is a hobby though... maybe talking on the phone!;)

It has been a little quiet on here, if others are like me, it seems that computer time has gone to a bare minimum.

Some at church this morning noticed my weight loss. I'm only 11 pounds lighter, but it makes me feel good to know that my hard work is showing, I am starting to believe that this is possible! Hope everyone has a good Sunday - Lisa.

Isn't it so nice when someone notices...I think it is easier for others to see that don't live with us and that don't see us on a daily basis.

While I was away this weekend, I had several that noticed that I had dropped some and it really helped keep me on plan over the weekend. When going through the food line, I ask for smaller portions and made sure to use the FF dressings for salads and skipped desserts. I kept my big water bottle filled and made sure to keep downing it so I wouldn't have too much fluid retention when I got home. Even went out for a couple of nice walks.

Tammy - Great job - a scarpbooking weekend? That sounds like fun

It was a lot of fun, I was so far behind in our family scrapbook. I ended up doing 110 pages over from Thurs-Sun and have our family one caught up for 2008 now. I still have three Disney trips to do and we are getting ready to leave for another one right after Thanksgiving.

I too am a little concerned with the trips, holidays coming up but trying to stay focused and on track right now.

Come on blue team...we can do it, let's have a great week!!!

Tammy - 110 pages, that is awesome. I'm still trying to complete my Disney trip from October 06. I only have our day at Epcot left, but we took a lot of pictures. Once this album is done I need pick up with 06 till now with our regular everyday photos.

QOTD-Scrapbooking is my biggest hobby. Usually when I get really involved, I forget about the time so I don't snack as much. If I am doing the scrapbooks digitally (I've done my last 2 Disney trips on Shutterfly - much faster than the regular way), then time really flys by at the computer.

Everyone have a good day, it is one day at a time. Go Blue! - Lisa.

QOTD- My hobby is soccer. You wouldn't think that I could get 50-60 pounds overweight with that being my hobby, but there were several extenuating circumstances.

Two years ago, my oldest moved to the challenge league- and I coach her team. Instead of coaching her team one day a week and playing in the adult league another day, I went to two practices per week to coach and no adult league. At the same time, my husband started getting really into his homebrewing (at 200 calories a glass, and five different beers continuously on tap in the house). Then, I started a new job and was totally stressed out and started taking Prozac for severe PMS. That was a recipe for disaster!

I have cut back on the beer- went cold turkey off the prozac- reintroduced regular exercise with my stationary bike and now I coach both girls' teams and try to be more active at their practices. We may get together an adult church league for indoor soccer soon as well.

Anyway- that's my "hobby" story. I did much better this past weekend than the previous and I was back on my bike for 8 miles again this morning. Hopefully I can drop the weight I gained last week- I plan to work really hard to do so!

GO BLUE!

Does anybody have any new food suggestions? I can not think of anything I have not tried, in most categories.

I am volunteering with Relay for Life. Our kick off is on Nov. 20th. Lots of things to do before then.

As for eating healthy during the busy times. Pack healthy lunch for work or when you are out and about over a meal, pack healthy snacks in an insulated lunch box. So you are not stopping for fast food or other unhealthy food.

Before heading to parties or holiday gatherings. Munch on some veggies, soup broth and/or drink a glass of water before the event to starve off the hunger and prevent you from eating lots of high cal foods and beverages.

Hope you are all doing well.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Blue

Yesterday I exercised and ate properly. I did about 5 cups of water. I will try harder today. What have you been up to? A successful healthy day feels so wonderful!

QOTD Tuesday: Is there any activity that you don't do now that you think you will do when you lose some weight?
