Welcome to week 3! How did everyone do? I hope you had a great week and that you are ready for week number 3!

Please make sure to weigh in today and PM your weight and what team you are on to dare2dream or email to brenda@kbelectric.biz. If using email please also include your DIS screen name.

We have had a great start, and everyone has been so supportive of each other. Please post when you can, I know life gets in the way sometimes, but we are here and want to hear how things are going for you.

If you are doing the mini challenge, how are you doing?

Any surprises for you these past 2 weeks? Just think, we are 2 weeks healthier! Way to go BLUE!

ToodlesRN, is having her surgery today, please keep her in your thoughts!:grouphug:

AND Friday’s Question of The Day:

Name a favorite Disney “moment” of yours (something that happened at a park, on DCL, watching a movie, etc. Anything that is special to you. And of course, if you have more than one moment you want to share… go right ahead!)

I posted this on a separate thread already, but just looking for some WISHes from my team...

I am doing my first Tae Kwon Do tournament on Saturday, and I am a bit nervous! Would love any WISHes for good luck!:goodvibes

These posts are on the end of the Week 2 thread, and I wanted to put them here as well so everyone can see them, and they don't get missed...

From Eeyores Butterfly
Hello ladies. I posted this a couple of days ago, but I'm not sure if anybody saw it. My normal WI day for WW is Tuesday, and this week I gained .4. I'm sorry for letting you all down. Next week will be better, I just keep telling myself that. Saturday I am participating in the Step Out Walk for Diabetes with my boyfriend, it's a 3.7 mile walk in Kansas City at the Plaza, so that will be soem great activities points!

My blood sugar wsa up again this morning, despite the late night snack, so now I'm stumped. I'm hoping it's just a fluke. Next week I'm going to forgo the bedtime snack to see what it does.

from ToodlesRN
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes on my surgery this Friday.

Hypermommy~ I have a huge Fibroid that is being removed it's too big to be done by laproscopic so it has to be a abdominal incision. I'll be in the hospital over the weekend and then off of work for 6 weeks!

I put in my end of week weight tally and down 4lbs! Good Luck everyone with the weigh ins.

From Briarmom
I lost a pound. I am NOT going to sit here and scream about how I worked out for 6 HOURS this week and ate pretty well and all I lost was a stinkin' pound!??!??!
Nope, I'm not going to rant about it.

from Bellybee
I lost 5lbs but the stinking stones (our mesaurement) to lbs conversion does not show that it shows 2lb so I getting stressed

Hi everyone,

ToodlesRN - Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Princess Vija - Good Luck at the Tae Kwon Do Tournment

I loss 4 pounds this week.

Lisa(Bellybee) I am confused by your post:confused3 How do you weigh yourself:confused3 If it makes you feel any better for my first 55 pound weight loss until I hit less then 200 I never lost more then 2 pounds any given week...I remember being so fustrated the first week...but it took me a while to fully understand and even like the foods my body needs to be healthy so my weight loss was slow...but any loss as small as it may be is a step closer to where you want to be.

Mini-Challenge is going well for me...

I have so many wonderful Disney memories...they truely have some wonderful people working for them. I love the Disney Cruise. The horn was so cool and I loved the very warm welcome our girls got when they first got onboard...my very shy dd was picked up by a cm and spinned around...what a smile came on her face. Also my dd's love how everyone said hi princess to them and hi my queen to me.

I have to hurry off...Have a great day blue team.

I posted this on a separate thread already, but just looking for some WISHes from my team...

I am doing my first Tae Kwon Do tournament on Saturday, and I am a bit nervous! Would love any WISHes for good luck!:goodvibes

Sending good wishes your way for the tournament on Saturday. Let us know how it goes.

Sending out prayers for ToodlesRN this morning for her surgery and speedy recovery...6 weeks off from work, she'll get lots of WISHing in:goodvibes .

WTG everyone on their WI's this week...our Blue Team ROCKS!!!:cool1: :cool1: We may not see the numbers that we want on the scale but remember that this isn't going to happen overnight, it is a lifestyle change.

I was down 2 pds this week and although I would like to have seen a larger number, I'm OK with it. I am sure that I could probably have done a little more if I had been motivated to get some exercise in. That is the next step for me...getting back to walking.

QOTD Friday - Favorite moment - I'd have to say the year we visited WDW with my in-laws and it was my daughters birthday. It was very special especially while we were having breakfast at Cindy's castle and my FIL teared up while we were celebrating, I knew it was a special moment for him because he isn't one to show much emotion.

Hi Blue Team! Hope everyone has had a great week and that next week is even better!

ToodlesRN: Best wishes for a problem free procedure and speedy recovery.

Princess Vija: Good Luck at the Tae Kwon Do Tournment. :cheer2:

As for this week's progress...

I didn't do as well this week as last but I did lose 1.5 lbs. A loss is a loss I guess...

As for the minichallenge, I challenged myself to do 3 days of 10,000 steps. I actually ended up with 4 days. Next week I will try to get my steps in every day.

No surprises this week really. I didn't do well last weekend so I didn't expect a big loss. This weekend isn't shaping up much better. My youngest turns 3 today and we are having a cookout and birthday party for family and friends tomorrow. I hope the work to get everything ready outweighs any bad decisions I might make. My goal is to have just a really small portion of cake and ice cream.

QoTD Friday: This is a tough one...I enjoy nearly every moment we're at Disney. I think I enjoy it so much mostly because it is the one place that I put work and worries aside and focus on having fun with my family. We have made such wonderful memories at Disney...I wish I was there now....:tink:

/
Princess Vija-good luck on your Tae Kwan Do tournament tomorrow

Lea-enjoy the birthday party. Like you said, try to eat smaller portions of everything.

My favorite Disney moment didn't happen at Disney. My now DH and I had been dating for about 3 months when "A whole new world" came on in the car one night. We looked at each other and talked about how that song reminded us of one another. It was such a special song to us, that after 4 years of dating, we had it played at our wedding. Maybe this is why he is so crazy about Jasmine :rotfl:

Way to go Blue Team for making it through another week. Keep up the good work.

Hugs and best wishes to Princess Vija and ToodlesRN! :goodvibes I posted this earlier this a.m. on the week 2 thread, so I'm just copying it here...

I didn't do as great as I'd hoped on my mini-challenge. Guess I was about 50-50 on writing down everything I ate each day.

But, I did great on the water and walking and lost 1.5 lbs. This is the most I have lost in 1 week in a long, long time, so I am thrilled.

I fully expect to lose another .5 lb today just happy dancing!!! :woohoo:

Congrats to everyone else on the team. Regardless of the numbers on the scale, we are all still hanging in there. I've heard it takes 30 days for a change to become a habit, so we're halfway there. Blue team is the greatest!

June

I maintained this week but I'm ok with that. I only "sort of" worked at it so I know you can't lose if you don't try really hard. I did make good food choices and watched portion control, I just didn't do it all. My goal this week is to REALLY DO IT! Count calories, water and exercise!!!!!

My special Disney moment was probably when my husband and I (along with my brother & sis-in-law) went on our Disney cruise last September. Although there are many special memories from our two trips with the kids to Disney World, this cruise was the first time my husband and I had ever gone away without the kids for a full week. We married young and had kids right away so there weren't many years of just the 2 of us--and those of you with young kids know how crazy life gets with school and activities! This was a special moment we reached in our life. The kids were grown and we were starting our new life of traveling together. Every moment on the ship from hearing our name announced as we arrived to dressing up on formal night to seeing the beautiful blue waters was a special Disney moment knowing that the two of us worked long and hard raising our family and now it was time for us. Can't wait to do it again in January!!!

Hey there fellow losers,

Prayers for ToodlesRN. Hope everything goes well with the surgery.

Hobbester - just an FYI - A Whole New World is me and my husband's song too!!! How funny is that!?!?

Lost 1.5 this week so my 2 week total is 7.5 pounds. I'm thrilled beyond belief.

QOTD - my most magical moment was on February 7, 2008. My son's 6th birthday and we were chosen as Disney's family of the day in toontown. He got to ride the goofy rollercoaster with Goofy, Donald, and Pluto. Then we have a private photo op session with the fab 5 (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy). Then, on our way out of our private photo op session, we won dream fast passes. I literally cried because I was so happy. While all our disney moments are magical, this was by far the best and most memorable.

Hope everyone had a great week and has a fabulous weekend.

Howdy, everyone!

First some answers I jotted down while reading through everyone's posts.

Eeyores Butterfly - remember... it's a long term thing so a short term gain is nothing. You'll beat it! And you sure haven't let us down!

Toodles - heck of a way to get off of work :rotfl: -- but send it my way... I could use the break :rotfl2: Excellent news on your loss of 4 lbs!!!!

Briarmom - I'm right there with you... I thought the weight was supposed to just flow off the first week or two. I'm reporting a 2lb loss but it's been the same since Monday no matter how much I work out. A stinkin plateau at the very beginning???? What a bummer.

Dianatlol - remember, everything in moderation (although with cheesecake I don't know that I could moderate either)

junebugTN - great news on your loss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Princess Vija - good luck in the tournament. You'll kick butt!!! What do you mean by WISHes?

Bellybee - How about this -- tell others your weight in stones (becuase the numbers are smaller) but keep track of the lbs. 2lbs is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jaime - 4lbs -- wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

leamom2princesses - 1.5 lbs is great!!!!!!!! How do you find time to get all those steps in? I was amazed when I started wearing this pedometer how few steps I actually take.

Okay... now for my update:

2 lbs for me. I guess the water's helping. I would have done better without the huge taco salad for lunch yesterday. I meant to take half of it back to the office but it was soooo good I couldn't stop eating. That's gonna be my next mini-challenge. No matter what I get for lunch, half of it must come back to the office. I read somewhere about asking for a go box at the beginning of the meal and putting half in there right away. That's what I'm gonna do starting Monday.

As for this week's mini-challenge (or was it to go longer?) wooo hooo, I did it!!!! And I wouldn't have done it without you guys and the mini-challenge. Remember one of mine was to not munch in bed. Well, thanks to my wonderful support system (you guys) and how much I hate to go to confession, I stuck with it even when I almost slipped. And I didn't have any cheeseburgers or fries this week (although today's treat day and I'm soooooo looking forward to it -- I'll just have to really cut back on eating this weekend to make up for it).

As for my favorite Disney moment... there have, of course, been several wonderful moments at Disney, but one stands out in my mind above all others. My youngest was 4 years old when he first went to Disney (I know.. I know... I should have gotten him there sooner :rotfl2: ). He had just learned to write his name. In fact, he still called it "drawing" his name. Well, we gave him the autograph book but he didn't understand it. Every time we gave it to him to go get a character's autograph, he tried to write his name in it because he was so proud that he could draw his name. Most of the characters were very appreciative of me swooping in to remind him of what he was supposed to do with it... but not Cinderella. I started to explain to him and she told me to hush and to let that child write his name. And then she sat down with him right on the sidewalk of the hub in her ballgown and patiently watched while he drew his name. And then she hugged him and told him what a smart boy he was. Okay... thanks... I'm tearing up again. Seems I just can't tell this story without it getting to me and it's been 9 years ago it happened. But it was such an intensely magical moment and pretty much defines what Disney is for me.

My fav Disney Memory...DS was 5, he was a micro-preemie and has some developmental issues-mostly related to communicating so he didn't talk much (really not at all, especailly when he really needed something, the signals get confused in his brain and he freezes up).
We were on Castaway Cay and he sees a CM building a sand castle. He stands there for a short while then the CM asks him "Do you want to help?" the rest is history. The CM, Navardo, had my son talking and working and TALKING some more the whole day. He even carried him out in the water to look at sting rays. DS was on cloud 9:cloud9: . At the end of the day my son begged to let Navardo come home with us. He cried the whole way back to the ship. Navardo rode the tram with us and gave my son a special memento (and gave us his e-mail address). I felt like he was a part of our family by the end of the day AND I couldn't believe that my little boy had so much to say about it!

You can't tell from this pic but they are WAY out there in the water checking out sting rays! He taught him how to swim too!

Hello everyone.

Sorry I was not able to post much this week, it has been very busy.

Yesterday, I was in court all week and did not get to the office (or the computer) at all.

I want to thank those of you who gave me encouragement last week. It really was what I needed to hear. I had a big loss (13 pounds) then a .6 gain, which, as you have said, can be consistent with "week two" - same on the show this week.

Well, I lost the .6 pounds and another pound to go with it.

I also found I have to lower my base points as my weight is lower than it was before.

Have done a great job at tracking points every day.

Training is getting there. Walked almost 3 miles last Sunday (the longest I have walked since getting sick) and have been to the track twice this week.

Have 4 - 5 miles scheduled for tomorrow which I will likely have to do inside - rain all weekend.

Also, we are expecting Hurricane Kyle here Sunday. Though it is described as "low grade" we all remember Hurricane Juan here in 2003, at about this time, and it caused millions of dollars in damage.

Vija, go gettem girl! I will be thinking of you.

Toodles, am thinking of you too.

My sister in law had a fibroid removed a few years ago. I named it "Fred".

Anyway, I called the day of her surgery "Fred's birthday".

I ordered some get well soon baloons and had them delivered to the hospital - and told them to address them to my sister in law and say "Happy birthday Fred" on the card.

Well they put in a Happy Birthday balloon with them and addressed them to "Fred McKone" - a fibroid.

A funny spin on it I suppose.

Have a magical losing weekend people.

Linda

P.S. My screen name means "Joints in Motion marathon duck" - for the Donald medal which I hope to have someday and the fact that I walk for the Joints in Motion program.

Too many Disney moments to count - I will tell you after my Christmas visit in December.

:tinker: :donald: :dumbo: :mickeyjum

I maintained this week which is a good thing considering it has been one of those weeks.

Vija - Good luck at your tournament. I'm sure you'll do great! :cheer2:

ToodlesRN - Wishing you a speedy recovery

My best Disney moment - that's a hard one. I'll have to think about it. I'm really enjoying ready everyone elses.

Talk to you all soon!

Hi!
I lost 1 pound this week...so I am officially back where I started!
This week, I have exercised for 20 minutes 3 days...so did not quite make my mini-challenge but I am trying to make myself MOVE! =)
I don't have time to post much, but I get a lot of encouragement from reading everyone's posts...this is a great way to stay motivated and encouraged - THANKS BLUE TEAM!!!

This coming week I am going to focus more on what I eat as well as increase the exercise...

Take good care everyone and keep up the good work!!!

Her's to being FIT and HEALTHY going forward!:woohoo:

Princess Vija- Best of luck this weekend! First tournament? I admire you for going out there and doing it. Spar on girl!

ToodlesRN - Good luck on your surgery. I hope you feel better soon. 4lbs is pretty darn impressive. Just think how cute your newly constructed belly button will look after. :goodvibes Rest on girl!

Eeyores Butterfly – Good Luck on your Sizzlin’ Self doing a 3.7 mile walk. Walk on girl!

Bellybee – 5 lbs is amazing! Don’t worry about the conversion – YOU know that you lost 5 lbs – think of it like this- losing 2 stones is like taking two big rocks off your butt. Great job! Keep droppin’ stones girl!

Briarmom – Go ahead and kick and scream and punch a bag while you’re at it (gotta keep those activity points up)– I wonder how many you would get for a full-blown toddler tantrum…..something to consider…. One pound is awesome! Great job on the workouts – Sweat on girl!

Dianatlol- Great job on your dinner out! Birthdays are especially hard weeks so maintaining is awesome! Keep on moving forward girl!

Jaime - Whoa! Way to go – 4lbs – that’s 16 sticks of butter this week! Way to go! Super job! Keep on shrinkin’ girl!

TammyNC – 2 pounds is great! Starting to walk again will make you feel even better. Good Job! Exercise on girl!

Leamom2princesses- 40,000 counted steps and a 1.5 lb loss! Small changes really do add up. Just think how much better you feel knowing you met and exceeded your goal this week. Keep on steppin’ girl!

Hobbster- I hope you had a good week. I love that song. I think it really captures a magical moment with someone you love. Keep singin’ girl!

JunebugTN – Excellent job on the water, walk and weight! Wow! Drink on girl!

Sparky47- Excellent job on making good food choices and watching your portions! I loved your story because it is so true about how children change everything and we set our needs aside to raise our families. Keep loving that self girl!

Goofy Groupie – 7.5 lbs in two weeks is soooo inspiring! What a fantastic job! Lose on girl!

Hypermommy- Fantastic job on keeping the mini challenge(s)! Way to go! Great idea about boxing ½ your lunch to go right in the beginning so you aren’t tempted to eat it because it’s there! Box it up girl!

SillyandI – Thanks for sharing your story and pictures! Just thinking about it warms my heart and says “That’s why I love the magic of Disney.” I hope you had a good week. Keep on sharing girl!

Jimmduck – Great job tracking your points! I hope all will be ok with the storm in your area. Keep going for the duck girl!

Sabrina Mouse – Stayed the same is not a bad thing! Some weeks that is an amazing accomplishment because it shows we are committed to change and don’t revert back to bad habits! Happy “New Week” girl!

Patty1859 – Great job on getting back to where you were and challenging yourself to move more. Keep on getting healthy girl!

I'm down 1 lb this week and while I was disappointed, I am chanting at myself (in my head) to "quit beating yourself up" and focus on the positive. I did not keep my mini challenge goals. I didn't exercise once. But I did stay on program (WW) even though I had a family emergency that involved a phone call from my niece saying her mom was in the emergency room and she didn't know what to do (her dad is serving in Afghanistan). It would have been sooo easy to give up as I'm just getting started and revert to closet eating and vending machine binging because of the unknown situation and the stress involved. On the positive my sister is doing better - she had emergency surgery and I brought her home and she's rapidly recovering. Thank you to everyone who posted last week because it really helped even though I didn't post -it was great to spend 30 seconds every now and again and be inspired by everyone.

It was especially helpful when my 15 year-old niece brutally (as only teenage girls can do) said 'Aunt Lisa - your acting like one of those fat girls" because I had made them Macaroni and Cheese and was standing over the stove in the kitchen shoveling it down right out of the pot. Of course it felt inside like she had slapped me - but I realized she was right and while she didn't understand my trauma over it - she just meant put it on a plate and sit down. I realized my behavior was EXACTLY what I've always done when I'm hurting or scared inside to sooth myself. So as a challenge to myself this week, I will put every bit of food I eat on a plate and sit at a table to eat it. No more lunch in the car. No more snacks at the computer. No more food standing at the fridg or the stove or the cupboard.

QOTD - Favorite Disney Moment – My daughter has a metabolic disorder (PKU) which basically prevents her eating most foods because her body can’t get rid one of the building blocks found in protein. Left untreated she would develop severe brain damage. Luckily it’s treatable with a special formula and following a very strict no/low protein diet. This is one of the things they test for when you baby is born and they do the newborn heel stick that seems so cruel. Since most food has at least some protein, everything she eats (which is only measured amount of some fruits and veggies and occasional starches ) must be weighed and measured to insure she only gets 250 Phenylalanine a day. There are low protein flours and pastas available but they are very expensive and must be purchased from the few suppliers in the US that sell it. Anyway not to make this post too long, I contacted Disney and spoke with the chef at the Cinderella’s table and they ordered the mix and agreed (very cheerfully) to accommodate her. So as a surprise during the princess breakfast my daughter was served Mickey Waffles with fresh strawberries. She started to cry because she said that she always wanted to go out to breakfast and have a waffle. Disney made that possible for her and that’s why I love Disney.

I don't have time to go through all the replies- just checking in.

I did weigh myself last night, my scale seems to weigh higher than the WW ones, so I think I may have actually lost, but I'll be good and send Brenda the gain since that is my "official" weigh in. I won't be on again until late tomorrow night because of the Diabetes Walk. Have a good Friday and Saturday!

Hi ladies!!! My name is Terrie and I'm new to your team and this whole thing!! So I hope to make some new friends along the way.

I haven't lost anything yet for as I'm just starting this today.

I'm going back in March to my Magical place asnd I don't want to be this weight. I just got married two weeks ago and I looked like a freakin fat marshmellow walking down the aisle with my back fat hanging out!!! I was mortified!!!:scared1: :scared1:

So, right now, I wear anything from a size 22/24-26/28. I've never been that high!! If you can't read this part way, it's because I'm sitting here balling my eyes out..so I apologize!!:sad1: :sad1:

We want to have baby, but not this weight. People think I'm prego now sometimes. I want for people to be able to tell when they see me, not guess!! My goal is to be between 250-270lbs when we go. I've very tall for a woman(5' 9 1/2") so I don't look that bad. I want to be a size 18/20 when I go.

Sorry for ranting but, I jsut needed it. I'll be back and hope to see you guys!!!:thumbsup2

OFTD--Disney moment--

My son meeting his hero, the Red Power Ranger, on his first trip ever to the World!!!:cloud9:
