WE MADE IT BLUE!!!!!

Welcome to week 14 and the final weigh in. How was your last chance workout week? I feel like I was a superstar, but I'll write more about that later on a personal reply post (I'm just so happy I couldn't resist! )

As always please report your weight to results to Brenda (Dare2Dream) by PM or email. brenda@kbelectric.biz And PLEASE thank her as well for doing an outstanding job!!!! I know she takes it very seriously and puts an extraordinary amount of time, effort and energy into it.
THANK YOU BRENDA!!!!!
:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

So, how was your week? How did you like doing the challenge? What did you learn from yourself? Share your total weight loss with the group. Share any other successes you have had during this time. Lets celebrate and applaud all of our accomplishments, struggles, determination and success!

Now, out of curiosty, are any of you interested in a biggest loser allumni thread to keep us going until the next challenge? I'll post to the biggest loser central and see what they say too.

ON a personal note, I thank you for letting me be your fearless leader, I appreciate all of you, you have helped me tremendously as well. Just reading about your success, struggles and determination have inspired me as well. I have fully enjoyed this ride.

Thanks to all of you that have stuck it out, I know it wasn't easy, but blue persevered and we did great!!!!

Hi everyone,
Well I lost 6# this week! Loved the last chance workout week. Total I have lost 11#. and I am pretty happy with that. The previous biggest Losers WISH challenges I have been on, I haven't lost anything, maybe lost a couple of pounds, gained or stopped participating. I am very happy with this one, and I hope to do really well with the next one, whenever that is.

I have learned that even though I am more busy than before (working full time now), I can find ways to exercise and make my health a priority. SLEEP is very important, and trying to find the balance is even more important.

I am looking forward to Monday, I have another TaeKwonDo testing. I know it will be challenging, but I am looking forward to being successful and keeping a positive attitude and "visioning" my success. WISH me luck!

Thank you Vija and Brenda! I found this team on a Monday that I took as a mental health day from work in September- honestly because I was just so frustrated with myself, burnt out etc.

I have lost the first 25 pounds of the 66.5 pound goal I set that day. I ran around with my 4 year old and played soccer in the yard this evening just like I used to do with her older sister (who is now a cranky 13 year old that I am taking to Sweden next summer-coaching her soccer team). I actually have worried that I won't be active enough for her little sister, but now we are just starting a new adventure that I look forward to!!!

I have approached this challenge like everything in my life- work hard/ play hard. When on the wagon I am perfectly on point, and when I go off the wagon- I think Jimmy Buffet sings songs about it... drunk for over two weeks etc etc

I have learned to get back on track more quickly and exercise regularly (thanks Melanie for the challenge) and it has made the world of difference.

Anyway, thank you all for the "place to go" to get back on track. I would love an alumni group. I hope to have some before and after pictures soon- that could be a fun way to start the thread.

Thanks again! Way to go Blue!:woohoo:

shewelch, so glad you found us that September day!!! and you lost 25#!!!!! WAY TO GO! Hey, you need to change that WISH clippie to a 25!:thumbsup2 That is great that you got to spend the time with your DD. Enjoy those moments, you worked hard to loose 25 and that is awesome. YOU WILL be at your goal before you know it!

We are going to have a biggest loser alumni thread, we are working out the details. We will start it right up next week Friday.

And I just heard the next Biggest Loser show starts on January 6th!!!!:cool1:

We are back from two weeks at Disney (nope, still not enough time:)). I didn't have any additional loss after Thanksgiving but the good news is that there was no gain for me while at WDW either.

I had started watching what I was eating right before BL challenge started. While on BL challenge, I lost a total of 22.5 lbs for a total of 25 lbs since the end of August.

I am so thankful to have had this challenge and the support of the Blue Team. It is really what I needed to jump start this healthy change and to make it a permanent fixture and a true change in thinking. It feels great to be in control of what I'm eating and being active and feeling good.

Sorry I wasn't around much on the boards while away...had good intentions but with three people sharing the laptop and one being a teenager, mom was the last one on if there was time:).

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Hi Everyone -

Just reporting in my final loss of 1.8 - which I feel terrific about. It brings my total to 12 pounds for this challenge. I know that I would not have to stuck through this with all the wonderful folks here on the Blue team! You ladies are awesome! It really helped to keep me motivated to post here- both for weeks when I gained and had to report it and the sharing of the excitement of a loss or the success of overcoming an obstacle when you want to share with someone who understands. I think back about how much I feel like I've changed inside as a result of this challenge and I am so grateful to have stuck it out. I'm grateful for the 12 pounds gone - of course, I'm only human and I wish it were more - but I have to accept the fact that my body loves to hold onto every bit of fat it can for as long as possible and that my younger days of losing 10 pounds in 4-6 weeks are not possible any more. I think the most important thing I've gained is learning to start appreciating my body and how empowering feeling healthy can be.

I started off hating to exercise. It was torture! I was so surly inside to myself and really hated that I didn't have the physical abilities I wish I for. It wasn't until we were at least 3-4 weeks into the challenge that I started exercising more regularly. I walked for several weeks just using the pedometer and aiming for 5-7,000 steps. Initiially, I couldn't walk to the yellow pole in our neighborhood and back without feeling tired and slightly winded. When that started to change, I set a goal for myself of jogging 30 seconds a day and building on it. I now consider the walk to the yellow poles and back a light day for when I don't have much time. I can full-out run for 5-7 minutes before I have to slow to a walk and I can do 60 minutes of water aerobics and not feel dead tired. I feel great about my changing abilities and growing self-confidence. I am really taking the long term approach to this now. I know that if it took me 12 weeks to lose the 12 pounds - imagine keeping this up for 50 weeks and at this time next year being 50 pounds lighter and maybe able to run a 5K!

Congratulations Vija on your loss this week. 6 pounds is amazing! Shewelch & Tammy - congratulations both of you for your 25 pound losses for this challenge! You both really set a goal and stuck to it. How inspiring your successes are! To ALL the Blue team members - I've learned something from each and every one of you. Some of you make me laugh and some posts made me cry - both for the struggles you face and for the realization that I am not alone in this. I hope you all have a great weekend and I would love to stay a part of the alumni thread or be apart of another BL challenge.

Lisa

Hi everyone. I just got back from Disney late last night. I weighted this morning and I'm the same as last Friday, so I'm happy with that.

My total weight loss for this challenge is 18 pounds. I want to also take this time to thank everyone on the Blue team. You have inspired me to keep up my motivation and I could not have done it without you.

I'm glad that everyone stayed strong and keep on going. We just have to take it day by day. Keep it up Blue, this is only the beginning - Lisa.

TammyNC and Hobbester, Welcome back! So glad you had a nice time at WDW, so wish I could have been there too!

I am doing pretty good. I tested last night for my purple belt and I am very happy to say I did a great job, and I now am a purple belt. The board break was a struggle, but I did it, and I am so happy!

Great job on earning your purple belt Vija!:thumbsup2

:flower3: hope everyone is doing well. How was WDW Lisa & Tammy?

Lisa

WTG Vija!!! We are all so proud of you!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

njmom23grls - Disney was wonderful...when we go, we sometimes aren't out of the room until lunch time but no one complains. We had one very rainy day last Thursday, the kids didn't wake up until around 11am...we went over to Kona Cafe for a late lunch then DH took DS over to Disney Quest while DD and I stayed in and relaxed. By having the annual passes and DVC, we don't feel like we have to be on the go every minute we are there. It will be time to soon start looking forward to our May trip.;) .

Good going everyone on your loss during the challenge. I am so thankful that OhMom told me that it was starting up because I think it really helped keep me on track. I still have a good amount that I want to lose but am not focusing on the large goal but taking it slow and steady.

How is everyone doing this week? I'm hanging in there, still no loss but no gain either.

Hey everyone,

Sounds like everyone has done so fabulous during this challenge. I started out so good and then life and stress got in the way. I'm mad that I'm going to vegas next week about where I was when I started the challenge. I let myself down and I let the BLUE team down.

But, I'm going to try my hardest this week to lose a little before Vegas next week and try to at least keep my eating under somewhat of a control.

I'd be happy to come back without a gain.

Then come 2009 - That is it, I've got to buckle down and be stronger than FOOD. Be stronger than the tempations. I can do it, I've done it before. I WILL do it.

I'm so happy that there will be a new Biggest Loser - I sure hope we have another challenge. I just wish I hadn't gone AWOL on everyone.

You are all doing so great - Tammy that is fabulous what you have lost - same for Princess Vija and Hobbster!!

Have a healthy day!

I wanted to pipe in here for a moment guys. So sorry that I still have not gotten to the race report - I will.

It has just been sooo busy. I had six court appearances and a mediation this week alone.

I will be glad when Friday is over as I will then be pretty much done until after Christmas.

Congrats to all the losers - especially Princess Vija. I am so proud of you Vija! You did so well this time and are a real inspiration.

I have been hot and cold with no real progress at the scale this time, but it has been the most consistent I have ever been.

I look forward to to alumni thread, because I need this group. Vija and the others show that, with peserverence, you can succeed.

I really hope there is another challenge - I would welcome coming back to this group, if that were possible.

I watched the new show preview last night (and was thrilled that Michelle won) and noted the really heavy people they have on board next time, a lady nearly 400 pounds and a 19 year old nearly 500 lbs.

I wasn't around as much as I should have been but I did do better than before and promise to try to do even better next time.

Thank you, Brenda, for the awesome, incredible job that you do - taking time out of your busy schedule to do the weight keeping. That job is hard.

Thanks to Vija and the leaders of the other teams as well, for all the hard work.

Thank you, all of you, for caring enough about yourselves and about me to continue to strive for the best and participate here. I will continue to do so also and won't give up if you guys don't.

I have lots to share about Disney and the race, and I will get to it soon, I promise - perhaps on the alumni thread?

Have a "magical losing day"

Linda

I just want to say thank you to all of you. I'm not much of a poster, but I read every one of your posts, and it really helped to keep me motivated and staying on the right track. I loved watching the show weekly and feeling like I was a part of it because I was tracking and working with my team as well. You guys have done a fantastic job, and I'm so proud of you for sticking it out because I know how hard it was sometimes.

I maintained again this week. I'm excited that the show is starting again in January, because I'm hoping it will help me stay motivated to lose the rest of the weight I have to lose and hit/maintain my goal weight. I couldn't have accomplished what I have without the example set by my Blue Team Members.

So Thanks :yay:

WTG Vija on being our Blue Team BL this week...you are awesome!!

MelC - Hang in there, I have been there several times within the past few years of trying to start something and letting other things become more important. You can do it!!

This challenge has helped me get started on this road to a new lifestyle. I am not dieting but making changes that I can live with forever. I also was not interested in exercising at all when we first started and it took many weeks for it to become a habit of getting out and walking. Now on the weeks that we can't fit in as many days, I really miss it. I have even pulled out my old Pilates DVD, I think I'm ready to add something else to the mix.

Thanks for all the great motivation and hard work from the leaders. I too look forward to the alumni thread along with a new challenge in January.

Hey, thanks everyone for the encouraging words, and congratulations! This has been an awesome ride. Thanks BLUE for being great motivators and team members. You guys are AWESOME!!!!

We WILL be having another go around and the alumni thread, so hang in there till the end of the year with us on the alumni thread and lets hit 2009 running!!!

How much did we actually lose?

-------------------Black Team-----Blue Team-----Red Team-----Total

11-15 lbs---------------3-------------4------------2--------------9
16-20 lbs---------------1-------------1------------2--------------4
21-25 lbs-----------------------------2------------2--------------4

I will not name who lost how many pounds but I will say that
Black had a loser at 18.1 lbs
Blue had losers at 18, 22.5 and 25 pounds
Red had losers at 18.2, 19, 21 and 23 pounds

Our biggest loser in pounds was 25. I will not name this individual because I do not believe in posting % lost and # of pounds lost. A math genius can use that information to calculate the individuals weight and I'm not going there. Also remember that the biggest loser in pounds is not necessarily the biggest loser in % of weight lost.

I am especially pleased that 28 of our 29 finishers lost weight during the challenge. Our lone maintainer was fearless leader donac that has had health issues that prevented her from doing everything that she wanted with this challenge. She was out of work for two weeks and on pain medication for 6 weeks. She did not give up and under the circumstances is thankful for that maintain. Thanks goodness she is feeling better and will be joining us for BL7.

Congratulations Melisa. You have earned the title of Biggest Loser. Great work you have accomplished much to be proud of.

Now what team gets bragging rights for BL6. Do you think you know? I was surprised. Our final count was

-------------------Black Team-----Blue Team-----Red Team

Weeks #1----------------6-------------2------------5

Let's look at total weights

That gives us a final % of weight lost as 5.824%. But what team is #1?

The WISH Biggest Loser 6 Team Percentages

to be #1 they would have had to lose an additional 42.2 pounds

#2-6.518%-The Red team

to be #1 they would have had to lose an additional 27 pounds

The WISH Biggest Loser 6 Team Champion

#2-6.625%-The Blue team

Congratulations Blue!! What a surprising finish, but the numbers do not lie.

Congratulations to you for reading until the end. I do have BL7 news but will post more tomorrow on our Alumni thread. The alumni thread will run until Friday January 2 when BL7 will start. That is the day initial weight reports are due. A sign up thread will begin on Monday December 22. I will post more info on BL7 tomorrow. It will be a little different and we need your help to make it successful. Stay tuned tomorrow. I say that a lot but I am tired now. All this figuring has me tuckered out.

Thank you losers for sticking with this challenge. I hope to see you all for BL7.
