Welcome to week 6! Wow time flies when you are having fun. I hope you are having fun Red Team. No matter what the outcome of our friendly competition the important thing is to have fun and develop healthy habits.

Today is weigh in day!!
Please PM or email me your weight by midnight EST tonight. Your point total for the weekly team challenge is due by 3 PM EST tomorrow. Every point counts so please try to make a contribution. Even if your numbers are late still submit them to me, sometimes they can still be used.

This week there will be no weekly team challenge. Yes, you have the week off from a challenge. so let's work harder on what we each need to do to lose some serious weight this next week. I want to be the Red Team #1 Loser for the week. How about you? What are we going to do to make that happen?

Red Team question of the day

Will you be watching the Biggest Loser on TV tonight? Have you watched other seasons? What do you think of this season so far?

Me first. I will DVR tonight's episode. Whenever I get the chance to watch I will fast forward through the commercials. I have watched the show since it first came on. I really miss Caroline, I have not warmed up to Allison yet. I love Bob. It has been fun to see a different side of Jillian this season. Sometimes "beatings, beatings, beatings are the way to get the job done. I really loved the black team twist. I am warming up to Kim, I don't hate her as much as I did last season. I love that they have twin brothers on, next season is going to be teams of two. I was going to apply with a WISH buddy that I have never met in person but chickened out. If by some miracle we made it I would have had to miss my sons wedding and I was not prepared to do that. I love seeing these people each week and getting to know them and watching them grow on their journey to better health. It's been interesting to see some of the small losses this season. As it's been said here it puts our struggles into perspective. They train 4-5 hours a day and only lose 2 pounds a week, I can do that too while living my life, IF I work hard at losing.

I am worried about my one team member who has not checked in for two weeks and my two that missed last week and have not checked in yet. I can't wait to hear from everyone today. Please submit your weigh no matter what kind of week you had, and remember, no apologies necessary. Life happens and sometimes we gain. Sometimes a no change is a good thing, and any loss is a victory. If your week wasn't great (mine sure wasn't) start formulating your game plan to make this new week a good one. We can all do this one day at a time.

I have watched BL in the past and have really enjoyed it.. but I am sorry to say I have not seen any this season... It is just crazy at night with my kids volleyball games and stuff like that. I always wish I was on it.. They all do so well...
 
I tend to work a lot of evenings and miss it a lot but I do watch when I can. I personally could never do that show because I don't like to sweat and they sure do make them sweat on the show!;)


I had a very small weight loss today. It was less than I hoped for but still was a downward number so all is good with that. I knew I was going to have a small loss this week. Had a weekend of not watching my portions all that close and then Monday Night Football last night and a few more beers than I should have had, so next week I expect HUGE numbers.

I am not watching BL this year.
I am almost at my first goal.
I have 6 more days to lose 1 pound!! ( I lost even with having TOM issues )
I go on my cruise on the 21st, I plan to check in from the ship.
(Last year I took a cruise, I lost weight )
 

I can't believe that it has been 6 weeks. WOW I have watched every season of BL and use my dvr to go through all the commercials. Love Bob and Jillian. I would love to be on BL but I don't think I could be away from my family for that long. Have a great day everyone. Have to go add up my points for this week.
 
I gained this week with TOM and pain med combo. It can only get better from here right! Do we get you information on both the weekly challenge and the two week challenge. I am confused, lol.
 
Steady this week. It was my birthday week and I traveled for business. I only had one small piece of cake, but many whoopie pies to celebrate.

Went to the gym tonight for an hour, 30 minutes cardio and 30 minutes weights. I will be hurting tomorrow as I worked the inner thighs for the first time in a while.

Gonna get out the Firm and get my behind moving.

winniedapooh (Michelle), No need to despair, so you gained a bit this week, you are still down since we started the challenge and that is good. You are on the right track, just keep trying hard and hopefully a loss will show up next week.

Michelle, please PM to me your points for the weekly team challenge #3 by 3 PM tomorrow, Wednesday, afternoon. That challenge is here. This one is a little easier to tabulate than the previous challenges. If you have any questions about scoring post them here.

Thanks to those that have posted today. We usually get the most posts on weigh in day, but numbers sure seem to be down this week. I have only had 10 team members besides myself check in with their week 5 weight. I am still waiting to hear from 25 team members. After the Biggest Loser tonight I will check in again and those that have not reported in will get the 'Friendly Reminder' PM. If I do not hear from team members by Wednesday night they get a 'still waiting' PM. I worry about all my team members that do not check in on time. I am concerned about how they are doing. I hope they are not avoiding me because of a bad week, everybody has a bad week or even a bad couple of weeks. The important thing is to quickly pick yourself back up and get back on the path to better health. We are here to encourage you and help you to accomplish that.

Get that weight to me soon Red Team. I need to hear the good, the bad and the ugly. No apologies are needed, just try to do better this week. This week there is no weekly team challenge so let's all seriously focus on really losing some weight. We can do it.

Please get your weekly challenge scores to me by 3 PM tomorrow on Wednesday. Every point counts. It would be great to win and be able to sport that winner clippie for two weeks until the next challenge.

I love The Biggest Loser. I watched it while I was in the hospital when I had DD2 in November and I couldn't wait to get going after seeing their awesome results. I LOVE Jillian, I was very excited to see her come back. I feel like this year's weight totals are a lot lower than past years. The Black Team is doing awesome though.

Hi Red Team!,

Well, I maintained this week. I guess it's better than gaining and it is my TOM. Next week will be better! I actually ate really well this week. I restarted WW meetings last Thursday, so that has really kept me on track. I've also run 10 miles this week in addition to weight training. So, I feel healthy...I'm just waiting for the scale to catch up w/ me.

I'm off to watch the Biggest Loser. I'm Tivoing it, so I get to fast forward through all the commercials and extra fluff. I'm really enjoying this season so far. My favorite is Julie...no real reason, I just like her the best!

Keep up the good work Red Team!!
 
I'm not a loser this time, sorry about that Team.

Am having kind of a bad week, medical tests (the kind where you can't eat any seafood for a week), etc. Feeling upset tonight.

Have walked several times this past week with DH & used his handweights to do some curls, etc.

No loss this week for me either. Sorry to check in so late Brenda. My first girl scout meeting as a leader was tonight. Right now I have 7 little girls in my group and another 4 who took paperwork to fill out. I can't wait to have fun with them this year!

I DVR'd BL tonight and just watched it. I thought it was great to see the big losses from the red team this week after the low losses they had last week. It seems like a lot of us has no/low loss weeks this week, so maybe we'll follow that trend and have really great losses next week!:cool1:

Red Team question of the day

We have just completed weekly challenge #3. How did you do with it? Did you have a hard time 'making' time for yourself? What did you enjoy?

Me first. I went to the library for the first time in a long time. I have wonderful memories of going a lot when the kids were small. I knew I had an old library card but when I checked out the system did not recognize my card at all. I had to fill out paperwork for a new card. The new card is all fancy with a hologram thing on it and a key fob. I really like my old card, it makes me feel like an old friend of the library's. The clerk said I can still use the old card. I'm not sure if I believe that, but I will try it out the next time I am there. I had a hard time making time for me to enjoy rewards. I just don't think I deserve any because I am doing so terrible, but I am the only one that can change that.

So Red Team, what are your plans today? Will you be eating healthy and doing things that will help you reach your goals? Remember you are challenged to work really hard this week and lose some serious weight. If we all make the effort we can do well with next weeks weigh in. Let's go all out and see what happens.

This challenge was ok for me. I didn't go to the library since it has such limited hours and with my work schedule they just didn't mesh. No relaxing bubble baths either..absolutely no time for that between working and hosuework. Working 6 days doesn't leave too much free time. I did get to spend one on one time with the girls, but no time to reconnect with old friends. There are only so many hours in the day. :sad1:

I loved the challenges! I got all of mine done.. spending time with the kids was my fav.. we had so much fun making cute lil spiders out of pumpkins for halloween.. we dont get to scary..lol... as for today, i am focusing on my water.. so far it is just sitting here and I am starring at it.. thinking about drinking it.. lol but i will get all my water drank.. when i was in the hospital i drank more water in those 5 days than I have all year.. and I could tell how nice my skin looked and i felt so much better.... unfortunatly I am not running a fever now....lol and water just dont sound so good... lol.. other than that it is just another day here at work.. I dont know about everywhere else, but everyone seems to be in a "mood" today... lol... well good luck this week guys!
 
THis challenge stunk for me as well. I can't do the walking from the far end of the parkinglot because of the knee surgery, I can't get in a bubble bath because of the knee surgery, I couldn't get to the library because of the driving and I started back to work and had to rely on rides. Time with kids, I have 5 but maxed out lol. I did call a few old friends and talk as well. I can't recall what the rest were but I got 45.:confused3
 
No loss for me this week but I was away and knew going in that it wasn't gonna be a good week for me. I'm happy that I didn't gain so that was good.:woohoo:
 
Today is Wednesday??? Monday holidays mess me up. I can't get anything right today....I think I had a 7:00 meeting for Home School that I missed. Too lazy to get up and look at calendar.

No need to apologize, girlfriend! Just getting motivated and getting started is the hardest part. At least you're trying.
Drinking more water than before? That's GOOD.
Being more active than before? That's GREAT.

Getting rid of the nastiness tapes that sometimes play in your head when you think you don't measure up? Hmmmmm...I know *I* need to work on that one.

Maybe this can be a teeny little thing just among us, something for my RedTeamies to think about and maybe to do...

Maybe when a negative thought starts in your head?...DON'T GO THERE.
So your body's not perfect? Well, Cindy Crawford doesn't completely like her looks either.
Every time you hear your inner critic start carping on what you're doing wrong with your weight, or even your life...maybe...just DON'T GO THERE.

I know, I know, easier said than done. But if you can squelch that inner critic just ONCE this coming week...wow.
And if you can squelch that narsty little voice that likes to point out when something isn't completely right in your life JUST ONCE? Well, you can do it again.
And AGAIN.
You can start to point out to yourself...
Yeah, well, maybe I gained weight, but I didn't gain as much as I used to. And I'm living healthier.
Think of at least one thing today that you did *right*. Heck, make up a whole list. Remember that if you get on the scale and the results seem disappointing.
I haven't PM'ed Fearless Leader dare2dream about this, I've just been in a fairly sad frame of mind lately and I want to change that as much as I want to change my weight. SO while I'm working on my weight, I thought I could work on my thoughts too and
I will DARE to be POSITIVE.​

Our schools have no-bullying policies, we don't let other kids bully our own...WHY do we sometimes stand for that "inner bully"? Why do we give ourselves so much grief?

It just struck me, how hard I am on myself and I thought...maybe someone out there on The Red Team is too hard on themselves too. I know who my inner critic is, it's someone from my childhood and I think I need to learn to let that negativity go. No one else can (metaphorically speaking) beat me up like I can beat myself up.
I would never let someone else speak to me the way that my "inner critic" does.
