Good morning Red Team. Week 12 here we come. Today is weigh in day. Please get your weight to me by midnight tonight, Tuesday. Because of the holiday we want to have the final results posted tomorrow afternoon/evening. I need to hear from you no matter how your week was.

I'm going to hurry and get this posted to start our weekly thread. I will return with the QOTD.

Red Team question of the day

Some of you answered this yesterday with your Thanksgiving post but it is so important I am going to ask it separately today. What are your plans to keep your eating under control for Thanksgiving?

Me first. I am REALLY going to have a green salad before the meal. I am gong to have some green beans just for me, not casserole, just plain. There will be no pie at this celebration this week (that comes next week). We will have the family favorite. Cheesecake. Growing up I never had cheesecake, I'm not sure when I was introduced to it, but now it is a must have at all family celebrations. It is always gone first before any other desserts. Anyway several years ago I bought some mini cheesecake pans. Little tiny, 4' diameter springform pans. I have never used them. I found a recipe on the internet for mini cheesecake in these small pans. It also includes several different mix ins to add flavor if desired. I will be making a recipe of these mini cheesecakes for Thanksgiving. We will share one that day and the others will go into the freezer. That way if I want one it will take a conscious effort to unthaw it and have it fit into my daily eating plan.

What are you up to today? They are pouring cement footers for the new garage today. I am going out to lunch with some ladies from church. DS is helping me declutter the kitchen and I hope to hear from all of the Red Team today. This will be a good day. I will eat healthy today.

Rock on Red Team!

My eating is pretty much under control, it's just that my metabolism is too efficient at storing energy.
It's my "non-exercising" that is out of control and my not getting enough sleep. I've read that sleep-deprivation messes up weight-loss and I believe it! I swear, if I could just get through a week or two and get 7+ hours of sleep every single night?...

agnes!

I would have to say I have no plans.. just to be cautious of what I eat and not over do it... because I cant quit thinkin about the pumpkin pie....lol.. its my fav. part of thanksgiving..lol...

and while I am posting I will go ahead and post that I had a good week.. I am down 3 lbs.. I wish you all a wonderful thanksgiving!!
Lisa

No plans here either. I'm gonna just watch what I eat, eat slowly and pay attention to my body when it says I am full.

Hi Red Team! Hope everyone had another good week.

What are your plans to keep your eating under control for Thanksgiving?

I am planning on working out Thanksgiving morning before I eat my big Thanksgiving meal. We eat our Thanksgiving dinner around 3pm, so it's a combination of lunch and dinner which will keep me full longer. Also, I'm going to try to eat mostly turkey and no rolls w/ butter! Also, I'll be giving thanks to the fact that I'm not a huge pumpkin or pecan pie fan!

Hi everyone! I'm sorry to say that I did not have a good week. I gained 2 lbs and I'm very upset with myself. I worked too hard to lose what I did and I do not want to gain it all back!

I've been sick for the last four days with a horrible cough and I haven't been exercising or watching what I ate and it really made a difference.:sad2: I can't slack off any more.

What are your plans to keep your eating under control for Thanksgiving?

I plan on filling my plate with lots of veggies and very small portions of any of the bad stuff! Hopefully I'll have my willpower back and be able to stick to this plan!

I finally earned my new clippie!!!:cool1: :cool1:

Now, I just have to make sure I don't backslide this week. I've already missed workouts Sunday and today because I've been frantically cleaning before a houseful of company arrives. I did make it to the trainer appointment last night and we have another appointment tomorrow, plus I plan to work out Thanksgiving morning.

DS has also decided to really try potty training this week, although not entirely successfully. How do kids know to pick the week when you really don't need a lot of extra laundy to do?:rotfl: I'm just glad he's really trying and super proud of him for doing as well as he has.

What are your plans to keep your eating under control for Thanksgiving?
Thanks to the SB diet, I've kind of lost my taste for sweets, so that should help. I'm also making more veggies and meat dishes and trying to keep those yummy starches to a minimum. I also REALLY don't want to lose my new clippie!!!

EEK!!!! I am still waiting for 14 weigh ins. Thank you to the 12 team members that have reported in. Week 11 results should be posted late this afternoon or early this evening.

Key 3 A No-Fail Environment - in other words - get the junk out of the house

This is about changing what you eat, why you eat, where you eat, when you eat, and how you eat, and doing it all in a way that is custom-designed so that it is natural for you.

Red Team question of the day

What are you thankful for?

Me first. Where to start. I have so much to be grateful for that I often just don't feel like I deserve it all. DH has put up with my shenanigans for 27 years. So far my three children have turned out great. DS is getting married to a wonderful girl. I am a grandma to Kyler. I am fortunate enough to not have to work outside of the home right now so I can DIS all day long. There is so much. PPPSSSSSTT - pay attention - here's a secret. I am very grateful that my DD27 is expecting her first child due June 15. WOO HOO!! I get to be a grandma again in 2008. I am so excited. I will gong to Seattle to spend time with her after the baby is born. This is a wonderful weight loss incentive.

So Red Team what's on your minds today? Check in today if you can. If you are traveling this holiday please be careful and safe. May you all have a blessed holiday and enjoy special time with family and friends.

Happy Thanksgiving!

WELL CONGRATS BRENDA!!!!! That is very exciting!!!!

I am thankful that my family is well now.. my mom got through tyroid cancer, and that is a HUGE relief!! I would be lost without her! I am thankful for my wonderful husband and kids! they are the best.. and also I am thankful for the life I have.. I might not be as skinny as I would like to be, but that is nothing compared to what a lot of ppl are going through. You all have a wonderful thanksgiving!!!!!
Lisa

Congrats Grandma Brenda!!!

I'm thankful that my kids are doing well in school and that things are going well for them. I'm thankful for a wonderful DH who lets me know everyday that he loves me and I am the one for him.

And finally I'm thankful that my ILs are away for the holiday. :woohoo:

Congratulations to our losers! Great job, keep it up this week! Hey these top 5 losers were our only losers this week. 14 people did not report in and I did not sent reminder PMs. I have been decluttering the house today with DS. It is so much easier to do this with someone helping. He really kept me on task. I am really making some progress and I am letting go of some stuff, not enough, but it is a start. I am a packrat.

Anyway I am concerned about our MIA team members. I will PM them sometime this weekend. Enjoy your holiday and while celebrating remember to take time to -

Have a healthy day!!

Hi red team. Sorry I have been MIA. This has been a crazy week. My aunt died and we have been gone doing family things and now I am sick. Cough, fever, sore throat the works. I just want to sleep. My dh and dd's went to grandma's house for dinner and I have been sleeping all day. We leave for our trip on Wednesday so I hope no one else sick.

No change for me this week. I guess I am just not really into the challenge. I wake up every morning and say today is the day and by dinner I am eating everything I can find. I have made every excuse not to go to the gym. I really need to change and I am starting tomorrow. I have to make this work.

Just checking in...hope everyone's ok. Back from Thanksgving with extended family...

agnes!

Happy Thanksgiving...not a great one for me...I think I have eaten every horrid feeling in regards to all of the family I spent time with this past week/end. Yikes...so today I am going to work on a paper for school and have plans this afternoon to hit the cemetary with DD or DH...it is peaceful and nice flat walking there. The traffic around here is making it difficult to walk:scared1: ...Did I mention I live near a cut through for a mall? Anyhow back on track, water bottle in hand, and a plan in mind...Christmas decoration pictures of yard to be put up here tomorrow night...:goodvibes Go RED TEAM!:cheer2:

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday weekend. I did. Just DH and I for a quiet Thanksgiving, a special trip to the Washington, DC Mormon temple on Saturday and a visit with friends on Sunday. Fun weekend. How about you?

I did have a healthy green salad before Thanksgiving dinner but healthy eating has been non existent the past couple of days. Today starts a new week, and a chance to start with a clean slate. I know if I start now and try harder to eat properly it will be easier to eat healthy at the wedding reception on Friday. Yes this is the week my baby, DS22, gets married. DD and spouse and other DS, his spouse and Kyler, my one and only grandson arrive on Wednesday. I have their itinerary printed up on my desk somewhere. I will have to look for it. Goody, found it. I am so excited to see everyone again. This will be a packed week with many food choices. I hope I can make some healthy selections.

Red Team question of the day

Were you out shopping on Black Friday? Did you snag any bargains? Have you done Black Friday in the past? Any conquests to brag about?

Me first. No Black Friday madness ever here. I do enjoy December 26th though. I have enough half price wrapping paper to last for years.

That's all for now. I will post again later. Our post count is close to the Blue team's so I need to run up our number today. Stop in and post to add to our weekly count. Just stop in and do a Pop Daddy if you don't have a lot of time. I'd love to hear about your holiday.

Now let's get back to work and win this challenge.

Have a healthy day!

Red Team Rocks!!
