Hey everyone!

A healthy recipe.....hmmm..... I think I need to find one. I really cook pretty plain and low-fat because DH had a triple bypass Feb 06 so I needed to change how I cook to keep him healthy. That also answers the question of how easy is it to eat right in the house.

My biggest problem is going out to lunch with the girlfriends and making unhealthy choices. Also when I make brown rice or potatoes I use butter which is something I need to change. Unfortunately I like the fat in my diet it just doesn't like me.

I have a question though, how do we report out losses? :cool1: Weekly? Monthly?

I can't even think of a healthy recipe that I use. In my family growing up I never learned what protein or fat or anything else was...you ate it all!

I live with my DH of 22 years, 5 DCHerubs-18 yo DS, 17 yo DD, 14 yo DS, 12 yo DS, and 10 yo DD. I have been working very hard the last few weeks to help DD 10 who wears a women's size 11 shoe, was 23 1/2" at birth, and is 5' 2" now to gain control of her eating and make healthier choices and less of them. I was so proud of her yesterday, she has seen me drinking gobs of water and had gotten a gift card for TRU in July for her 10th birthday, she went with DH and purchased a small water dispenser for her room. She drank almost that whole jug yesterday afternoon and was so proud that she did not eat ice cream last night. The thing that has been difficult with me is the teens and their pizza runs!!!:goodvibes

Attention Red Team

Please report your Tuesday weight to me by midnight EST tomorrow. I need the numbers ASAP so that I can compile our team weekly % of weight loss. The team % of weight lost will be compared to the other teams and the weekly team winner will be named.

Wednesday morning (or after I get all team member weights) I will publish a chart of team members and their % of weight lost. I will not be publishing total pounds lost. If you wish to share # of pounds lost that is up to you, but remember that a math wizard can use that number and your % of weight lost to calculate your beginning weight. (Like anyone has extra time in life to be concerned about calculating that).

Be healthy and I am looking forward to getting your good news soon.

Well, I, for one, will be shouting my # lbs lost from the rooftops! AND grabbing WISH pounds loss clip art too. :thumbsup2 :cool1: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Hi Everyone! I've been MIA for a few days b/c I moved this weekend! I am so happy to NOT live in DC anymore...what an unfriendly place! I'm starting a new job on Wednesday and it's a fantastic career move for me. I have to warn you guys to not expect miracles on the scale from me this week...it's been a little stressful.

My recipe: I don't really cook, but one of my favorite salad is greens with chopped walnuts, cranberries, reduced fat feta and my homemade dressing which is 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp balsamic vinegarette, little bit of grey poupon, dash of soy sauce, and garlic (either chopped/minced fresh, or bought already diced up). It's delicious and I eat it several times a week.

Trivia about me: Up until last week I lived with 2 other girls my age in DC and we loved working out together, cooking healthy, etc. Now, I've moved back home temporarily and am apartment hunting and will be living alone then. As long as I don't buy the junk food and bring it into my house, I'll be fine. One of my downfalls the past few years is that my boyfriend was living in NYC and I spent most of my weekends visiting him. Well, our main form of entertainment was going out to eat! We'd think nothing of eating every meal out and we'd eat dinner late - like 10 or 11pm and they'd be BIG meals. That contributed a lot to my 20 pound weight gain this year. I should regret it...but I got to eat some really, really good food! Now, he's studying abroad for 2 years as part of medical school and I'm really using this time to get my eating habits back to normal and getting back into running. I really hope they have a refrigerator and kitchen for us at my new job b/c I really enjoy bringing my lean cuisines for lunch.

Well, week one down and I feel like I could have done better (I know I could have) but I will do better this week. I need to drink more water. I have a really hard time doing that at work. I get busy and the more I drink- the more bathroom breaks I need- it's a catch 22.

I have started using my elliptical trainer again- 15 minutes a day to start. Last winter I was on it over an hour at a time!!:scared1: When I started last winter though- 2 minutes was hard...
