Welcome Blue Team, to week #4!!! :grouphug:

I guess I'm one of the early risers of the team again this week. :sunny:

Well I'm both happy AND sad today; I lost those few pounds from the "really bad meal" finally, BUT I'm only back to what I weighed last Tuesday morning. So I'm happy that those disgusting greasy food pounds are off, but I've basically lost a week of otherwise very healthy eating.

Anyway, on to week #4!!! :) :) :)

I did try 2 new fruits/veggies this week: cauliflower (gross) and a new type of apple that one of my co-workers brought in - "ginger crisp". THAT was very, very good! It looks like a Golden Delicious apple but has a very distinct flavor that's a slightly sweeter than GD, and a slight spice taste to it. :)

Even though it was a type of apple, the fact that it was a different variety, does that count towards trying something new?? LOL

I've been drinking my water (plain) every day, so I'm very happy about that! And I've been doing some treadmill and weight lifting exercises too.

Seaspray, you are off to a good start! And thank you for starting the thread. I am down 0.5 lbs this week, and that is a win, since I've felt SO crappy that I haven't done much but eat. The cold is almost gone, but the cough remains. :( I'm enjoying my little ones at school-even when they drive me CRAAAAAAZZY-and life is good. I'll be watching BL tonight, PMing my weight to Princess Vija, and tallying up the points. Have a good day everyone. Remember-just by posting on this thread, you have made a choice to be in control of your life.

Forgot to say. Cauliflower is great raw, with a dip. It tastes a bit like raw cabbage. Or it's good hot with a cheese sauce. Of course, the cheese sauce defeats the calorie goal! :rotfl:

Good Morning SeaSpray!!!:goodvibes Guess you are the early riser. I have been up since 5:30, but did my running and got Tess up and ready for school. Now I have time to catch up!!

Well I lost 0.4 this week-not nearly what I was hoping for, but a loss none the less!!!

As for the challenge-I drank my water everyday, ate breakfast every day. I did not eat fast food (Subway was okay right? cause we did have that on Fri for dinner). I did not get to try 2 new veggies, though I did add one. Mushrooms. I don't know why I didn't eat them, but they came on the salad I had yesterday. They were good and I figured if I could eat more food for a little bit of calories then hey why not:rotfl: ;)

I did not exercise yesterday as my legs were REALLY sore following my 5k. But I was back on the treadmill today and feeling pretty good.

Hope everyone has a great day. LETS GO BLUE TEAM!!!

Good morning everyone!
I haven't checked in in quite while. Things have been just so crazy here. Illnesses (myself, and two of my kiddos), computer problems, etc. I am down 1.2 this week, so that's good.
Hopefully it will be more next week now that I'm feeling better and back to my morning walks.

Have a great day!:goodvibes

Good morning blue team losers!

Thank Heavens for those early risers!:goodvibes If I could, I would sleep 'till 8:00! :rotfl: thanks for starting our weekly thread SeaSpray.:thumbsup2

A few reminders:
1. PM or Email your weight AND your loss to me by midnight please... remember something like I weigh 125 and I lost 2.2 # this week. THANKS!
2. We still have 1 more day for our team challenge. We have through today to earn some extra points, please PM or email your points total to me tomorrow by midnight.
3. I am very proud to be on the blue team with such great friends!
4. OhMom is going to post our next team challenge tomorrow... are you guys ready? I am!:yay:

SeaSpray, sounds like you are back in control and off to a good start for the week! remember how you feel now and let that be your guide this week. I say that new type of apple counts!

Debbie, congrats on the loss, it still is a loss! I hope you feel better soon.:wizard:

VernRDH, you are doing awesome! You have so many healthy habits in place now, and that loss you had is still a loss! You go girl!

Good Morning :)

I had a great week, did really well with eating, water and exercise and it showed on the scale. I'm down 2.8 pounds from last week. YAY!! :woohoo: I did ok with our challenge, drank my water, had breakfast each day, no fast food but only managed to try a new fruit and no new veggies. I had a mango the other day and liked it a lot more than I thought I would. It's something I would eat again.

When are we supposed to tally up our points from the challenge, today or tomorrow? Awesome job to all of us, no matter what the scale shows :thumbsup2

I did what SeaSpray did this week, I had --- let's call it an "incident" with food on Thursday and Friday... :rolleyes1 :sad2:  I slowly came back around Sat. and Sun. Yesterday I was back on program. I feel emotionally so much happier knowing I am back on track, but frustrated that I did what I did. I maintained this week, I am happy with that.... but it couldn've been so much better... Oh well... I feel back in control and that is what matters most! I am setting some pretty strong goals for me this week. I have truly learned that I am not able to set limits with McDonalds. I eat there WAY to much, and I eat WAY to much when I am there. I have 4 weeks until my trip to Disney so I have made it a goal to find alternatives to McDonalds until then. I know I can stay in points if I avoid McDonalds and that is what I am going to do this week!

Personal goals:
1. Find alternatives to McDonalds
2. Use only my alloted points this week... keep flex points unused
3. Exercise M-F
4. Journal all foods

Awesome job!!! I can feel your energy and happiness through your words. To answer your questions, we tally up our points at the end of today. So, you have 1 more day to get in a new fruit! I had a mango yesterday. It was better than I thought too, today I try a pluot... nothing like waiting till the last minute! :rotfl:

Thank you, Vija :) May I ask what a Pluot is? I've never heard of it before.

If you still haven't done so, I posted last weeks question kind of late, but tell us what you are enjoying about being in the biggest loser competion.

*****************************************************
this weeks question is inspired by luckywife from last week, and many others last week seemed to struggle a bit, me included. OhMom put it best I think when she said that the "honeymoon" phase is over and here we are with a lot of work ahead of us. soooo. for this week I want to hear about your dream. What got you interested in losing weight, what motivated you to say "I am going to loose weight". IS it for a specific event coming up, is it to put on that sexy dress, is it to WOW some people, what is IT that inspired and motivated you... BUT the IMPORTANT part of this question isn't just telling us about the dream but I want you to COLOR your dream!
Tell us the details, help us "see" your dream. It isn't just a dress you want to wear to the upcoming wedding, but a black strapless dress, that is shiny and turns heads as you walk by. It isn't just feeling better, it is... running through the park and jumping on the swings with my DD as we pump our feet to hit the sky, we have our shoes off, and I feel the wind between my toes, I can pump the swing higher than anyone there and I am laughing with DD as we run toward the slide.... AND PLEASE, if you have more than one dream, color them all! Put them out there throughout the week, I know I would love to read them, and I know everyone else will too! Grab a paintbrush and color that dream!

Thank you, Vija :) May I ask what a Pluot is? I've never heard of it before.

You know what, I feel silly but I didn't even really know!:rotfl: I know that it is in the fruite section...:confused3

So I looked it up and found out there are even 10 varieties! Here is also the link with a picture... WOW thank Heavens I saw the picture first, the inside is so RED, I think it might have surprised me!

Pluot
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A pluot (plü-ot) is a tradename for a fruit developed in the late 20th century by Floyd Zaiger.[1] In the United States, the fruit is known by most regulatory agencies as an interspecific plum[2]. It is a complex cross hybrid of plum and apricot, being ¾ plum and ¼ apricot in parentage. The pluot, like the aprium, is derived from the ½ plum ½ apricot hybrid called the plumcot.

The fruit's exterior fairly closely resembles a plum's. Pluots are noted for their sweetness (due to a very high sugar content) and for their intense flavor. They are also extremely juicy. Pluots are also rich in vitamin A.

"Pluot" is a registered trademark of Zaiger's Genetics.

Well, YUM! It sounds good so it looks like a visit to the grocery store is in order today :)

I am still working on how I want to share my dream with all of you. I saw your post to me about it last week and I just can't get the words to come out right when I try to type it. I'm working on it though and will hopefully be able to share with all of you soon. I'm kind of shy but this is helping me come out of my shell a little.

Good morning team.

Sorry I haven't been around. I've been extremely busy with work and school.

Tomorrow I am going to see an orthopedic about my ankle which I sprained at Disney 1 1/2 years ago. It is still giving me alot of trouble. Plus I have plantar fasciitis in that foot too. Ugh.

I want to increase my activity on the treadmill but I want to make sure that I don't hurt myself more.

The good news is I'm down .8 this week. Not a huge loss but I'll take it.

My goals for this week will be the same as last week.

My goals for this week:

1. Drink 80-100 oz of water/day
2. Exercise 60 minutes/day
3. No eating after 7:30 pm
4. Check in here daily

Talk to you all soon.

Sabrina

I am down .5 this past week. I think I am officially at a plateau. :sad2: I have been hovering around the same 1-2 pounds for weeks now. I was losing at such a great rate I suppose it was inevitable. It is hard to see those scale numbers when you know you have been working as hard as you can. I have been drowing in water, staying in my calorie range all the time even when travelling and eating out, fanatically measuring and portioning everything I eat, exercising like mad, etc.. I know I just need to keep at it and the pounds will start coming off again but I won't say that it is not disheartening to see the scale not reflect the results of all my hard work. It really takes a toll on your motivation.

In order to try to break my plateau I have adjusted my calorie range down by 60 calories a day. I am going to make it a goal to eat more frequently. I have gotten where in the last few weeks I was eating more calories at my meals and skipping snacks. Now I am going to make myself eat the snack and as a result I will have to cut back on the number of calories I eat at meals to compensate. I may also look into getting an exercise bike and/or trying to get to the gym 1-2 days a week for swimming or some other kind of new exercise. Finding the time to actually go to the gym is just so hard. It is hard enough finding time for the treadmill and WATP videos I do at home.

I am doing OK on the BL challenge. I have gotten my water and had breakfast each day. I did eat McD's on Saturday night while we were travelling (a grilled chicken chipotle BBQ snack wrap - quite good and low in calories but fast food none the less) and I have not gotten the new fruits and veggies. I guess I am 50/50 on the challenge.

Congrats to all the losers this week! I hope the rest of us join you very soon. :)

Hi everyone! I have to apologize to all of you...I had a bad week and am up 2 pounds. :sad2: I don't know why - I've stayed in my points and have walked and worked out on the bowflex. It's so frustrating!! On the positive side I pulled on some capris Sunday that I thought would be tight and they were actually loose. I think I'm in the twilight zone. :scared:

The challenge...that's gone really well. Butternut squash fries were very tasty, lots of them, low in calories and high in fiber, woo hoo! I also had cabbage - can you believe I haven't had that before? At least not that I know of. I'll see if I can get extra points in anything through the day today.

Good morning blue team!

I've already typed this once this moring just to have my computer crash on me!! So instead of addressing each person individually I'm just going to do it as a group.

Congratulations to everyone who showed a loss on the scale this morning!

To those of you who maintained your weight from last week or gained weight...keep your chin up and keep up the great work, you will show a loss next week.

I gained .5 this week but my clothes are fitting better for some reason. I haven't done real well on the challenge for last week but I am ready for the new challenge, I can't wait to see what it is.

Keep up the great work everyone. The blue team ROCKS!!!:hippie:

Congratulations to everyone who has lost weight this week and congratulations to everyone that has tried! It is just wanting to and trying that are half of the battle.

I am down 1.2#'s this week. I am a little disappointed. Thought I might have a bigger week because I have drank more water this week than before.
But, I am still trying to overcome my past diet attempts where I would lose 2-3 1/2 # each week. I got used to seeing BIG numbers, but I have put 30 pounds on since then....so I know that was an unhealthy was to lose.

My main goals for next week are to food journal. I tend to grab a bite here or there and don't record those points. I am sure they add up.
Walk 5 times this week. I have only done 3 this week.
Drink 70-100 oz of water daily.

Have a wonderful day! I can't wait until the show tonight!!!

Traci

Good morning everyone!!

Congrats to the losers:cheer2: I am down .10, not great but I must admit I am happy to not have gained.

I had my first good workout in a week last night. My goal this week is to stay on track with my exercising. I got pretty lazy with it last week.

Hope everyone has a very successful week and we all have great results next Tuesday!!
