GO BLUE TEAM!!!!!!!!!

Hi teammates!! I am sooo excited about this. This is going to be so much fun! You can either PM your starting weight to me, or you can email me. vng1@charter.net. I would prefer PM'ing, but either way is fine.

One thing I thought would be great is to kind of introduce ourselves to each other because I know there are some new faces joining us!:wave2: Tell us a little about yourself. What program are you following, what do you like to do for exercise, anything about your life that you want to share.

And remember the Biggest Loser reunion show is on tonight! I know of at least one person that lost more weight, and some gained back some of the weight. AND there are 2 sets of couples that met on the show! Should be interesting. People magazine this week (the cover with HSM romance) has some info toward the back of the magazine with pics!

LETS GET THIS PARTY STARTED!:dance3:

oh wow, it's going to be hard to yell "GO BLUE" in the heart of buckeye land.... GO BUCKS! and ummm...err... GO BLUE :teeth: good thing i'm only an OSU fan because i live in buckeye land and i like the school colors. hehehe football games for me just mean scrapbooking time!

oh wow, it's going to be hard to yell "GO BLUE" in the heart of buckeye land.... GO BUCKS! and ummm...err... GO BLUE

That is to funny! I was thinking the same thing. I was born and raised in Ohio (but live in NC now) and I'm a true OSU fan.

Okay I will introduce myself! I'm MJ, married 13 years to my wonderful husband. We have three kids: 2, 5, and 7. We love Disney theme parks and I've been reading the DIS for quite awhile now. I saw this challenge on the Community Board and decided to go ahead and dive in!

I have put on a ton (well not quite literally that much but still...) of weight over the past few years and I want it OFF! I'm starting to feel creaky joints in my ankles and knees and I know it's because of the extra beating they are taking from these 35 unwanted pounds.

I'm going with calorie counting/portion size control 6 days per week and 30 minutes of exercise 6 days per week to start. I'm looking forward to this challenge and to hearing some other people's tips for success! My Mom lost 30 lbs a couple of years ago, has kept it off, and now at age 60 feels the best she has felt her entire adult life so she is my inspiration!

I wish everyone a very successful BL challenge!
MJ

Hi everyone!!! :wave2:

I am so happy and very excited to be a part of this team, and for being a part of WISH Biggest Loser for the first time!!!!

I see so many familiar names, I know we'll have a great team!! :sunny:

I just won my company's Biggest Loser contest, which ended last Friday, and I was just awarded a certificate and a small cash prize (lol), and a small gift bag full of chocolate truffles, which I promptly shared with my co-workers ;) LOL

I'm psyched to be starting this new Biggest Loser contest today!!!

I'm on break at work right now, so I can't type much more, but I did want to jump in and say Hello to my fellow teammates!!! :woohoo:

Guess I'll go ahead and do the introduction thing!

My name is Desiree' and I'm from Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Geaux Tigers!). I have one dd, who is 13 and she is causing my hair to turn grey! hehe I'm married to the most wonderful man ever. We've been married for almost 3 years now.

I never really struggled with weight until after I had my dd. Then I started slowly creeping upwards. It's funny with regard to my ex, when you're in a bad marriage, you don't really gain any weight. I was perpetually in the 160s and once I met Chris and became "content", my weight ballooned to 222. Weird how that happens! But as of June 1st, I recommitted to myself and as of today I've dropped 23 pounds. I'm currently at 199.2. I've still got a ways to go but hopefully I'll get there!

My diet plan is just watching what I eat and logging everything into Sparkpeople. And exercising every day is a must for me. I've discovered that if I skip just one day, then that leads me to skip more of them. So I'm re-committing to myself to get it in no matter what. Ok who's next!?!

Is that not the most evil reward ever?!? hehe Give me that cash over the chocolate anyday! But seriously, congrats on winning your challenge! That's awesome!

Hi Blue Team!
*Tell us a little about yourself*
Hmm....I am a stay at home mom. I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter princess: . I love to read! Which isn't always a good thing because I would much rather read a good book then exercise! We moved from Ohio to NC where my husband is a teacher :teacher: (not a lot of openings for teachers in Ohio). We are now playing a waiting game for a teaching job in Northeast Ohio so we can move back to be with all our friends and family!

*What program are you following*
Well I am not really following a program for the month of Sept.(which may come back to bite me in the butt!). I am cutting back on portions, not drink pop (northerns) and soda (southerns) :goodvibes I am also cutting out sweets expect for on Saturday, I am going to allow myself one treat :cake: ( i bake something sweet on the weekend for my husband to put in his lunch for the following week) if I follow though with my exercise plan! I am also going to be drinking at least 8 8oz glasses of water a day. And keeping track of what I eat on sparkpeople (all i do is enter what I eat and it does the rest!) if this works for the month of september I may just stick to this and not follow a program.

*what do you like to do for exercise*
I am going to do crunches every half hour of tv I watch :happytv: I will do 15min of crunches while watching that show. I am going to walk :tiptoe: for 30-45min before lunch while pushing my daughter in the stroller and 30min of walking after dinner. I am going to use my walk away the pounds dvd and do the 1 mile walk (only takes about 15-20min) while my daughter takes a nap and then do what housework :laundy: I can before she wakes up! I am also hoping to use the gym at our clubhouse a few times a week in the evening once my daughter has gone to bed, that way my husband is home to watch her but because she will be sleeping he will be able to get his work done!

*anything about your life that you want to share*
I am really looking forward to losing weight and this biggest loser contest is just what I need to get my butt in gear!
:cheer2: Go Blue Team:cheer2:

Alreadyexcitedgrammy (AEG) here!

Let me resound what ohMom said about the Go Blue phrase...... it is hard to get those words "out" when one lives in Buckeye country! So, I think I will just refer to us as the BL Blues - that might help me a bit :thumbsup2

Most everyone knows that ohMom is my DD but if you didn't, now you do!

DH and I just celebrated our 40th wedding anniv (Aug 13th) and this past weekend ohMom (Molli) and Andy (DS) hosted a family gathering. It was a great weekend and let me tell you Molli is a ***** (5-star) planner and chef  Andy prepared a "casual" grilled meal (chicken cordon bleu and grilled veggies on Sat (VERY tasty I might add) Sunday was Molli's day and I won't "over" elaborate (because I don't want to be the cause of a first day downfall of my team mates, with being too food detailed and sending you off to the kitchen :rotfl2: ) but let me tell you the food was fabulous! Lots of snacks and appetizers and main meal was coffee crusted pork tenderloin on the grill, cheesy potatoes and a salad with fruits and poppyseed dressing and my ALL TIME FAVORITE petit four cakes. mmmmmmmmmmmmm and mmmmmmmmmmm! So, my first action today was to put those left over petit fours into a bag and popped them right into the freezer! Molli mentioned she is a scrapbooking lady and the table setting was a stage for the photo pages that she will be creating to comemorate the gathering :thumbsup2 Boy am I glad that it was before this challenge started - I got to have lots of goodies and now it's time to get on with the healthy choices :goodvibes

I am a "early riser" to get the exercising done - I generally walk on a treadmill (tm) and use Leslie Sansone WATP tapes. If I don't get right up and get it going - I just don't exercise after work. I have been a "slacker" for the summer months - I real am hoping that this challenge gets me back to the "mindset" of just get up and get it done - my team mates are - so no pity party for myself allowed!

EDIT ***
Forgot to mention that I count WW points!

Looking forward to chatting as we go and of course, it is with your help I know that I can make wise choices and lose a few, too!

:cheer2: GO BL BLUE :cheer2:

Hi everyone,

My name is Michelle. I am 39 and single. I have been working out with a trainer twice a week for about a year now. So far I have lost about 50lbs. I would like to lose another 50. I try to keep about 1700 calories a day, but lately that hasn't been going so well. I am looking forward to Biggest Loser helping me to get back on track with my eating.

GO BLUE :cheer2:

Hi Team!

My name is Becka and I live in Missouri. I am 32, married to my DH for 10 years with 2 kids. DS is 5 and just started K two weeks ago and DD is 2 1/2. They are each a handful by themselves but put them together and :scared1:. I work fulltime as a programmer analyst for a regional insurance company so between my job and my family it does not leave a whole lot of time for myself.

I have always been overweight but after I got married I really started to put on the pounds. I have successfully lost around 40 pounds twice in the past 6 years or so but each time I got pregnant and gained it all back plus some. I don't know what my highest weight was because I avoided the scale. Since I have been keeping track of my weight I have lost 49 pounds but I still have a ways to go. I have never seen BL on TV but I hope that this challenge will just be another tool on my weight loss journey.

I have followed WW in the past and liked it but since early June I have been using sparkpeople to track my food and exercise and it has been very successful for me so I am sticking with it. I try to eat within my spark range of 1300-1650 each day, drink LOTS of water and exercise at least 5-6 times a week. I walk on my treadmill, outside and I really love my Walk Away the Pounds videos.

Hello Team! :wave2:

My name is Donna, I'm 32 years old and live in Indiana. I'm happily married and have 2 DS's. Brady is 13 and Zachary is 4. I've always had to watch my weight but over the past 5 years I reached my heaviest. I'm down 43 pounds as of today and would still like to lose about 40 more. I had been doing WW but over the summer stopped going to the meetings. I am, however, still following the plan at home, but hope to get back to the weekly meetings soon. I try to exercise everyday and have been doing a Biggest Loser DVD and also one of Richard Simmon's dance type workouts. I find him very entertaining so that helps make the exercise more fun.

I'm so excited about this Biggest Loser challenge and hope not only to drop some weight but hopefully make some good friends in the process. I've found that having a "buddy" to do this with, who understands you, makes this journey so much more enjoyable.

Good luck everyone!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Hi team! I just finished working out to my new biggest loser II DVD. it was pretty good!

One thing I want to add is to ask you guys to take a picture of yourself this week as a "before" pic. then we will be able to enjoy looking at the changes with the "after" pics. I already took 2 sets of pics.... one with my shorts and tshirt and the other..... in my swimsuit!:scared1:

Now a little bit about me. I am 38 years old, and married to my HS sweetheart. He is absolutely wonderful! I have 2 kids. I am an OR nurse ( I work in heart surgery - go figure), but I am trying to become a teacher. I have been overweight since the middle of college. As each child came along I got progressivley bigger. Then when DD was born, I cut my hours way back and the weight ballooned up.

I am currently doing WW. Just started back up and today is day 1! I am very excited about this. I also plan on scrapbooking my journey. I look forward to putting in pics that show my weight loss. For exercise, I have an elliptical at home, and I use DVD's like WATP, Biggest Loser, Tae Bo, etc. I have a ton of videos! Now I need to use them!:yay: I also will be going to the gym at least 2x a week. It is free through DH's work. I will do the treadmill there and the weight machines.

Right now I am looking forward to October because I am going to WDW with DD for a mommy and daughter trip and I can't wait! :cool1: I hope to win a dream, but just being there is going to be magical.

GO BLUE TEAM!

Hi :wave2: Most around the boards call me LTS to shorten my username and prevent confusion. I am married with 2 dd that started 2nd and 6th grade this morning.

I have about 60-70 pounds to lose total. I have very severe plantar fasciitis in both of my feet that has resisted ALL conventional treatmens, and continues to get worse. I am currently facing a life in a wheelchair at age 37 if I don't get it resolved. My only options left are risky surgery or loose weight so I want to take this route first and see if it works.

I am following South Beach and lost 10 pounds but then had a few weeks off for vacation and summer stress so 5 of those found me again. I am determined to get this weight off. I enjoy water exercises so I am planning to swim laps and try to work in water aerobics classes. My local Y offers some high intensity water aerobics so I am just trying to figure out how to work their times into my schedule (not the greatest times but I am going to try to adapt our family schedule).

If you are interested in learning more about South Beach I have a thread here with lots of information and tips and tricks and where we Beachers can get specific information and support.
