Have you ever had a character experience, either in park or at an eatery, where the character interaction affected your like or dislike for that character?

I had one at 1900 Park Fare which resulted in me having a whole new affinity for the stepsisters from Cinderella. They were so funny and probably the best interaction I have ever had.

On the other hand, I met Peter Pan at Magic Kingdom and he was such a snotty little jerk I no longer like him or want to watch the movie.

My niece who's 7, came back from DLP with a really bizarre dislike for Minnie Mouse! Seriously! I'm so disappointed in her. When I ask her why she says "she's just such a show off!"

An interaction with Donald at the Garden Grove restaurant made me actually like characters. Prior to that I was afraid of them.

My son had a not so great experience with Goofy. He met him at Tusker House first and was very playful and encouraging my son to play with his whiskers. A day or two later, we met him at Cape May and my son went to try to play with his whiskers and got the naughty 'no-no' finger from him. My son was 6 at the time and fully aware that these are people in costumes, so he wasn't overly upset about the whole thing, thankfully. We just chalked it up to a grumpy Goofy that day.

As an adult, the way a character at Disney acts shouldn't cause you to hate a character more. No matter what, the character will have a little bit of the personality of the person that is portraying them. Disney can do all they want to standardize the character interactions by having scripts and things like that but the face characters have to react to actual people saying different things and doing different things to/with them. Peter Pan is supposed to be a playful brat. Some people take it a little far for some people's tastes.

I was never a fan of Daisy to start with, but after a M&G with her at a Christmas party, I "officially" do not like her. She was shoving Minnie, pulling on her dress in a rough manner and when I gave Minnie a hug she shoved me as well. She did not want to stand next to us when we got our photo and she kept walking off stage. I am thinking they had a real argument before coming on stage. It was weird. :rotfl2:

In 2015, I had a M&G with Peter Pan that turned my like for him and the movie into a major, major dislike for the park character. He was actually flat-out rude. My sister said "I love that Stinkerbelle" and he went off, literally yelled at her, refused to do a picture with her, started acting sassy and like a spoiled child. It was ridiculous. His "handler" had to put him in check and she even apologized. You could tell by the other guests that they were offended by his behavior. One mom took her kids out of line and mentioned something about his "sassy attitude" in a not-so-nice manner.

I was never a huge fan of Dwarfs until I met the at a Christmas party years ago. I now have pins galore and look forward to seeing them at each Christmas party.

I became a fan of Chip and Dale after a M&G. I never disliked them. I just saw them as "cute". Now, I love them and really look forward to seeing them several times each trip. I love the playfulness. They always want to go get ice cream or nuts. That kind of interaction makes me love the characters.

Have you seen any of the vintage Chip & Dale animated shorts? They're often featured in Donald Duck cartoons and they are hilarious.:earsboy:

sounds about right for Peter Pan.

Yeah, Peter Pan is a snotty little jerk, and I'm pretty sure he's a sociopath. It's actually kind of a messed up story, and the movie is too. Tink is basically trying to murder Wendy the whole time, but Peter just laughs it off. Plus, he always antagonizes Captain Hook, why exactly? He's at the least emotionally stunted but possibly much more deranged than that. If you are an adult, Peter Pan should be pretty dismissive of you.

All that said, I still enjoy Peter Pan as a movie, but I am not sympathetic to him. Actually, the only character who acts with any real sense of responsibility is Nana!

Well, since you put it like that..... yeah. :teeth:

This was moved because it isn't theme park enough but threads about shoes and pants are. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
