Bizarre observation last trip to MK!

Well, I have seen many very manly looking women performing as bridesmaids in the Parade, as well as Hodown! But I can assure you, they actually are women. They make up and costumes are just ....not very flattering to some peoples appearance
I don't recall seeing the person in question, but I too find it hard to believe that they would put a guy in drag unless the "character" required them to do so. If anything, I'd think maybe the person was transsexual? Or they just really had a strong masculine side to them? I don't know

I do know that I love Disney for their openness regardless of a person's background!

I don't think they would need to have a man dress up as a woman as I am sure Disney has enough enough people to fill the roles, i am sure they have ;standbys" just in case they are needed.

I'll bet it was a guy. If they were short a man and needed to use a woman, I'm sure they'd put a woman in a mans suit. But, it does seem funny the other way around....NOT THAT THERES ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT!

Sorry to just get back to this. I am positive that this was a guy---there's no doubt, and I bet the poster from Louisiana was there the same time I was as this guy started during the train number at the park opening. We then saw him later doing the trolley number. I don't necessarily have an issue with it, but I really don't think that they "intend" to use men in this role--really think it was a "must do" kinda thing. I actually had pictures of the park opening, but I deleted them from my camera because "he" was in them and I dreaded the questions from the Disney naysayers back home! Truthfully, I felt sorry for him as he didn't look very comfortable, but, then again, who is in the humid summer with tons o' makeup and a petticoat?

OMG! I can't believe this is on here! We were watching the opening ceremony on 8-5 & all of us were wondering the same thing!

I'm going to go through our photo files & see if we have anything that shows the performer(s) in question. Now I know it wasn't just heat stroke & I'm kind of wondering why we would be put in the position of answering questions to our daughters @ Disney.

You know, Disney is pretty unbiased with the people they hire. He may not have been a fill-in. During one of our visits the female CM that seated us at Chef Mickey's pretty much had a five o'clock shadow that indicated she had a full beard. I'm honestly not trying to offend anyone or make a joke out of this. I think it's great that the HR people at WDW can look past someones appearance and give them a job based on their skills, not their looks.

Disney is very strict with facial hair, face characters height, etc.. I doubt (even with their desperation for CM's right now) they would ever allow that! The only time I saw men in drag was for the Mulan parade and that went along with the movie

Hello all,

If any of you remembers the Disneyland "parade" called LIGHT MAGIC, their was actually some male pixies in there wearing the lipstick & wig and all. A friend of mine used to work at Disneyland and confirmed that a few guys had pixie roles and even sent me a picture which I unfortunately did not keep.
So the whole trolley situation wouldnt surprise me at all.....

Yes thats true but all places that employee people cant not hire someone because of a disability. I know of a girl who works at WDW and has a leg muscle problem.
