Our last trip was in May, and I can't believe I forgot to mention this as it was so ????? when I observed it. Okay, you know the boys and girls that do the trolley dance and songe "right down the middle of Main Street USA"? Well, during one of our visits, one of the "girls" was CLEARLY a "boy." I guess they were short a woman CM that morning and filled in with a man. It just seemed very, very bizarre to see what essentially amounted to a guy in drag dancing down Main Street at Disney World. Poor guy; he was wearing makeup three inches thick, but it still didn't hide that adam's apple or manly appearance. Does anyone know if they do this often?

I think i saw the same guy dressed as Mary Poppins last time i had lunch at the castle. Even my DD8 said " Daddy . Mary Poppins looks weird"

can you tell me when they do this? My son 9 and daughter 3 have been practicing singing the song so they can sing and dance down main street. I'm sure they would love to see this.

They do this when Magic Kingdom opens for the day. They start out at the train station and then as the gates open and people move inside, they do another routine on Main Street. At least that's how it was when we were there in May 06. I didn't see the guy in drag though.

You know, Disney is pretty unbiased with the people they hire. He may not have been a fill-in. During one of our visits the female CM that seated us at Chef Mickey's pretty much had a five o'clock shadow that indicated she had a full beard. I'm honestly not trying to offend anyone or make a joke out of this. I think it's great that the HR people at WDW can look past someones appearance and give them a job based on their skills, not their looks.

Ummm....I can assure you that there are no boys in drag in the Trolley show....

I mean I guess maybe they *could* do that if they were really desperate, but I've never heard of any cases of it.

We saw the show many times when we were up there (I happen to really like it) and we never saw a guy dressed as one of the girls.

When we were at MK in June the song they were singing
on the Trolley on Main Street was - " The Trolley Song"
from " Meet me in St. Louis"

Ding ding ding goes the trolley,
ring ring ring goes the bell, etc

They start out with "Walking right down the middle of Mainstreet USA" and then it segways into "Ding ding ding goes the trolley"...

as this is a famous Judy Garland song, maybe it IS a drag queen!!!

if you pay close attention to most of the male dancers in WDW it is not hard to picture them in drag. not that theres anything wrong with that!!! :rotfl:

We were there in May this year and noticed the same thing but it was at the MK opening ceremony. The couple behind us even commented on it. "She" had a blonde wig and her face was definitely masculine. I don't have a problem with it, just happened to notice it, lol.

I just thought this was funny. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: like something I'd hear Jack say on Will and Grace.
