Sept 23rd:
Up early for EE at MGM. We were the only two people on the bus and we had stopped at all of the Downtwn Disney hotels. This was our first glimpse of how uncrowded the parks were going to be. DH was dissapointed becase Test Track was down for refurbishing during our visit but I made up for it later in the day! We had breakfast at Hollywood and Vine and I got all kinds of pictures with the characters. The food was great also.
There were no waits for any rides or shows and that was wonderful. It was pretty warm still for this late in September. We had had our fill of MGM by about 1:00 so we took the boat over to the Boardwalk so that DH could buy DS a gift from ESPN (12 year old DS is a diehard football fan). As we approached the Boardwalk we saw a huge crowd surrounding the entrance to ESPN. That is when I realized that it was SUNDAY AFTERNOON and the TN Titans were playing. Gee I wonder if DH knew that??? Now is the time that I gave of myself and sat and watched football for 3 hours. But to be quite honest I had a great time too. If the Titans would have won it would even have been better. OH WELL!!
It began to rain when we left at about 4:00. We took the boat back to MGM and then caught the bus back to the hotel. We napped and then got up and ordered Pizza for dinner. We sat in the bed eating pizza and watching a movie. Gee, does it really get any better than this??

Sounds wonderful! What hotel were you staying at??

tv too.......it is the ultimate......watching the outdoor rain and sitting on a nice cool bed......yup....it was great.....thanks for telling us..........where did you stay...........

You were definately unselfish to sit for three hours and watch football when you could be enjoying Epcot just paces away :) . I'm not sure I could be so noble. However, on our recent trip I endured many hours of ESPN in our room. We don't have cable at home (a concsious decision that has made our 21 year marriage less stressful), so it was more than my DH could handle when ESPN was available every night (and morning!). I was shocked to see there was more than one channel, i.e. ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, etc. I look forward to the rest of your reports.

It must be nice having the parks all to yourself!!! ;) And pizza in bed what else can I say.... that is just the best part of a vacation!!! :D

Thanks for posting! Sounds like you had another nice day. You don't just have to go the parks to have fun.

I was so happy to read your trip report. I was wonderful. I hope my husband and myself will be able to have such a trip.

we expect to go on our first trip without the kids in September. It will also be our honeymoon we never had and our 33rd wedding anniversery. We are of modest means and we have been saving for quite a while for this special trip.

We plan to stay at the Swan. hoping everything will go well.

Thanks for your trip report
