Bitter sweet moment.

I just got back my old car from getting the head gasket fixed. now I have had my new car for 15 days and I love it but it hurts that I am going to sell my old car. I am very sentimenal and I have memories in that car that can't be made again. The one that is standing in my mind is my mom rode in that car for 1 yr. before she passed away. Why am I feeling so diloyal to my mom who isn't even around. I have to learn to let go but it is so hard for me. sorry for rambling, I know there are more important and worse things in the world but right now mine seems the worse to me.

I know that some people probably think I am weird or crazy, but I always feel very sad when getting rid of an old car, even though I like the new one. I just think that I get fairly attached to the car. It is something that spends almost every day with you and I think it is natural to get attached to it. Both good times (happy memories, time spent with loved ones, nice trips) and bad times (flat tires, fights, bad trips) have occured in it. I even remember once when I was younger my mother picking me up from school, I had an orthodontist apt. later that afternoon, and her telling me that she was going to the dealorship to trade in her old car and pick up a new one she had bought. I started crying because I was going to miss the old car so much

I'm right there with you. I was rather upset to be getting rid of my old car, even though it was having tons of trouble the year before we traded it in. The head gasket blowing for the *second* time was the final straw.

I still want to stop, get out, and hug any car that looks like my old one. LOL!

But, on the other hand, I love my new car too!!

(Okay, now you've made me start to sniffle over the loss of my old car -- that was the one we brought Blaze and Sage home in. )
