Biting the bullet and booking SW!

I can't sleep at night worrying about getting a flight for our trip in June out of BDL in Hartford! Delta is $100.00 less but only for evening flights, don't want to lose a day! I think I am going to book SWA tomorrow and stop worrying! I have Capital One miles enough for one ticket, I need 6 total!!
Right now SW is 335.00 a ticket!
I can get a credit if/when it goes down right?? How does that work? Could I ever get the credit on my card or only credit with SW? We never fly...only every 3 years or so when we take a trip to Disney!:)

What do you think...I know some are playing "chicken with SW" but I don't think I have the stomach for it anymore!

Then fly down the evening before on Delta. get a hotel and you'll get a jump on your trip!

That was my plan a few days ago, book with Delta the night before. But my father-in-law offered us his SW credit of 291.00. So that and my one free ticket from Capital One miles may make it worth it now to go with SW.

I can get credits if the rates go down right?? I just want to be sure before I book. I am assuming they will eventually go down, maybe not until a month before but if that happened and it is the same time and flight, I could get a credit on my card??

Thanks again!

Check to make sure the free flight is available with Southwest RR. If it is not, that may help with your decision.

Jenny, yes you can get a credit if SW fares go down. BUT you'll need to rebook your flights. It's not that difficult, do a search and there's a lot of info on how to do it. This is one reason I like SW (I bit the bullet too!). You'll receive a credit that can be used for a future flight, good for one year. However, I received a credit last year when fares went down and I rebooked the exact same flights - so I wrote to customer service and nicely asked if the credit could be refunded on my credit card. And they did!

I booked 6 flights at almost $315 each - OUCH!!! I am counting on a lower fare before June, but I have peace of mind that we're on the flights we wanted. I just can't understand why fares from Indy are so much cheaper than fares from Louisville :confused3

You won't believe it, I went to check one more time at Delta before I booked SW today and Delta was down 100.00 a ticket for the flights I wanted!
So, I ended up booking with Delta for much less then SW. $218.00 round trip from Bradley.
Another plus, I cashed in on my rewards as a credit on my credit card with my miles and got more credited then one ticket cost me!!
Much better day today!! Now I can relax on the transportation part of the trip planning!!!

Thank you for your help everyone!!!!!

Great news, Jenny! After reding your post and the one about other SW fares being lowered, my hopes are up a bit that mine will come down.
So far, they haven't changed from the day they were released. I'm checking at least 3 times a day though! :)
