Bistro de Paris

We have dined here often and have always had a wonderful experience. Service is excellent, food has always been beautiful and well prepared. The dining area is small and has a nice upscale feel to it.

We have always enjoyed quiet, intimate meals here but recent posts suggest that misbehaving children have ruined some meals. This restaurant does not have a children's menu so it's surprising to hear this.

We heard this as well from coworkers who dined here and we were told that children can now order from the menu downstairs at Chefs De France, so we went ahead and cancelled our ressie back in December. We had booked babysitting for our kids and didn't want to deal with loud children on our 'date' night. So it's V&A's from now on! (I don't mind:)

So a quiet dinner for 2 will be nice? Bear in mind she has never been to WDW.

It will be as long as the small dining room doesn't have several tables with children who don't know how to behave at this type of restaurant.

There are some really nice tables for 2 by the windows that overlook the World Showcase. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you snag one of those.

After V&A it is definitely the best restaurant on WDW for both food and service, including both the Disney and non-Disney Resorts.

I sat at a table close to the windows, and I didn't notice the few children I was able to see acting up at all. They seemed pretty well behaved, and fewer in quantity than most restaurants.

I found the odd ladies sitting at the table next to us more of a distraction. If you want to know more, click the Gluttoberfest link in my signature and the Bistro de Paris link in my first post. I posted photos of the dinner, as well.

We ate there last trip and we liked the restaurant.
As for the kids--we saw some the night we were there. I was suprised too, until our server told us about the kids menu from downstairs. He also told us business had increased since it became better known guests could do that. (The place was completely full that night).
My guess is that because of the menu itself and the somewhat more upscale ambiance, there will be fewer kids at Bistro than at most other WDW spots.

And to add that the kids at Bistro the night we went were all pretty well behaved.

We had a wonderful dinner there once, with our kids. There were many families in the restaurant. I guess something has changed, as they definitely had a children's menu (my DS ordered off the regular one, DD ordered off the children's one, DS wanted filet) and it was not the same as Chefs. This was 2007 I think.

Had the most awful experience at Chefs in 2008 (December) - I mean so awful that after over an hour left without eating. The worst experience we've had at any restaurant ever.

Bistro was nice and felt like a break from the "theme park" feel. Service was nice, and the wine pairings were fun to try (we had the chef's menu - I forget how many courses). We definitely would return - even though our meal was well over $400 it was fun and a nice break!

Bistro has always been a favorite of ours. Food and service are excellent, wonderful atmosphere.

As far as kids, we have defianately been there a couple times when kids have been acting up in the restaurant, running around, across top of chairs etc. Just don't know what some parents are thinking.
