How much money should I set aside (yes, we are that broke!! :scared: ) so we will have enough for a nice dinner for 2 at Bistro de Paris. We have reservations and I made them before I realised it was not on the dining plan but our reservations are for during illuminations and it sounds romantic so I'm keeping them but we need to know how much to have with us.
We will get 2 entrees, probably one appetizer, 2 glasses of wine, and a dessert.
Would 150.00 be a good estimate or 200.00, or more?
Oh, and include tip in that figure too.

I want to think with tax and tip, dining pretty much exactly as you describe, it was about $150, maybe a bit more.

The menu does not show the desserts. If I recall from my last dinner they also have a three course dinner which is about $60, and a wine pairings for that dinner of about $30. If you are going to split an appetizer and dessert and only have one glass of wine each with tax and tip you should come in closer to $100 than $150.

I agree with Anne, :thumbsup2 however I also have a suggestion- prices can vary with what you plan to order and what type of wine you order. Have you visited AllEarsNet.com? You can click on "dining" and then "menus" and look at a recent Bistro de Paris menu for a closer idea.

Entrees range from $24 to $37. Appetizers range from $8 to $14. I haven't found a wine list or dessert menu online yet, either, so I estimated 10 dollars per glass. (that's what it cost me to get a glass of wine at Chefs de France last time, but there were also much more expensive offerings) Order two midrange entrees, one appetizer, two glasses of reasonably priced wine and a dessert and I imagine it would be 130-170 including tip. 150's right in the middle, so it's exactly along the lines of what you and Anne were thinking.

I called up to get reservations for Bistro but I didn't know they only did them 30 days out. I'll have to wait, but I am really hoping to get in! Let us know how you liked it when you return! Enjoy! :goodvibes

Definately plan on $200, and you do realize..you really can't see illuminations from Le Bistro. If you are lucky enough to snag a window seat when you arrive, the view is limited at best. The food/experience however..are excellent.

I think this is inflated.
Even if they ordered the most expensive appetizer and both ordered the most expensive entree (37 each) and each had a 20 dollar glass of wine and a 12 dollar dessert, and even if they left a 25 % tip, it still only comes to $173. :confused3 I think the kind of meal the OP has in mind will be under 150.

Unless you do the fixed price menu and wine pairings, I think that $150 would be enough. However, there are ways to go over that price, so a little extra wouldn't hurt.
