Can someone tell me the difference between these two restaurants? I know that there are two separate menu's and both are listed as being in France.

I have also read that reservations for Bistro is 30 days out, not the 90 days like Chef's, is this true.

Also can you book Bistro with the dinner package for the Candlelight Processional?

I am trying to decide between Bistro, Chef's, L'Originale and Le Cellier for the dinner package for the Candlelight Processional when they become available, which I understand is 90 days out.

Any help, suggestions, comments?:jester:

I'd be interested in knowing which of the two (Bistro or Chef's) would be more romantic. Any info would be great.

DINING

Chefs de France - The menu features the creations of its three famous owner-chefs: Paul Bocuse, Gaston Lenotre and Roger Verge . Escargot, Coquilles Saint-Jacques, classic French onion soup, Mediterranean seafood casserole, and canard à l'orange (roasted duck) are some of the flavors you will find here. Chefs de France is located on the main level.

Bistro de Paris - located on the 2nd floor above Chefs de France is the pricier Bistro de Paris which offers delicacies such as pan-seared foie gras, truffles, lobster fricassee, and roasted quail.

Boulangerie Paitisserie - a wonderful pastry shop so save room for dessert! Get an IllumiNations spot and send one of your group here for coffee and pastries to bring back! Be sure to get a good whiff of the baked goods smell that is piped out of the shop.

THis may help a little. I have never eaten at either of the Restaurants, but am planning to this visit.

I have eaten at both Bistro de Paris and Chefs de France, and I like Bistro better. The atmosphere is more classy. It is quieter (a lot less people than downstairs, and few, if any, children), definitely more romantic than Chefs de France, and I think the food is better. I haven't been happy with dinners at Chefs de France, but their lunches are very good.

You can only book Bistro de Paris at 30 days out.

I don't know anything about booking CP, but given a choice, I'd pick Bistro. You can request a window seat.

jbethke,
If Bistro were available with the CP package, I would book that in a heartbeat! (I don't think it is offered with the CP package, though). It is more of a grown up type restuarant (I didn't see very many children). It is definately quieter than Chefs. We have eaten there about 3 times, each time the service has been exceptional. The food was wonderful (I didn't always know what we were eating, but it was good :) ). We have never waited anymore than 2 or 3 minutes for our PS at Bistro. At Chefs, there always seems to be a wait. The food is good there. When dining on the CP at Chefs two years ago, we decided to book a PS AFTER the CP. We arrived 15 minutes early for our PS and waited 45 minutes beyond our PS for our table. The park was closed --it was well after Illuminations before we finished our main course and we ended up getting our desserts to go because we were afraid of missing the last monorail back to our hotel.
I would probably book Le Cellier (we did that last year and had a very good CP experience) before I would go with the Chefs for the CP package again. (We have done Chefs for the package before the CP and really felt rushed...)

MikeWazowski,
I believe Bistro is dinner only. Yes, there is a big difference in the food served! I think Bistro goes by seasonal changes and it is very fancy (but, very, very good!). I just noticed that someone else gave a trip report (click here for link) where they ordered chocolate souffle (wouldn't I like to have one of those!!) --when we were there in Dec, we had an amaretto souffle (and it was WONDERFUL, too!). I usually remember the dessert part of the meal :). Of all the EPCOT restuarants, Bistro is my favorite :) .

Chiefs - French food, nice atmosphere, fair value

Bristro - Fancy French food, romantic atmosphere, very expensive love value for what you get but its good food.

Sounds like if they have Bistro's available for the CP package that is what we'll do since it is just Adults on this trip. If not I think we'll go with Le Celler in Canada.

Thanks everyone for your replys you really made it just easier for us to decide what to do.

I really wish you said no. Now I don't know what I'm going to do. I think I will have to go to Chef's for lunch on my epcot day, then rum over to the bistro on my AKL day. THANKS FOR THE CONFUSION - LOL
