BISTRO de PARIS-DRESS CODE?

I understand the Resort Casual dress code-but my knowledge of resort casual is different than someone else's.

Can someone please advise me on that? My hubby WILL NOT wear slacks if he doesn't have to. I was thinking a nice button up shirt for him and a cute little silky top for me and khaki shorts for both of us is pretty resort casual at all the resorts I've been to, but I see pics of people in dresses and slacks..

Please advise!!!

But we don't change from what we have had on in the parks all day. Tee shirt and shorts is just fine.

I beleive it is buisness casual. "Fancy" shorts look to be OK. My DW and I usuall dress a little for it. It can be a nice, quiet and romantic place.

Ladies: Capris, skirts, dresses, jeans, dress shorts.

NOT permitted in dining room: Tank tops, swimwear, hats for gentleman, cut offs, or torn clothing. While t-shirts are now allowed, the policy remains that t-shirts with offensive language and/or graphics are not acceptable

Being in a theme park, I think the 'rules' are even more relaxed. I'd never wear shorts to California Grill or Jiko, but I'd wear (nice) shorts to Bistro de Paris.

The waiters are in tuxedos at Bistro. We eat at Bistro for our final meal of every trip and we must be going at odd times of the year because only once do I ever recall seeing a diner in there in shorts and/or jeans.

There is no published dress code that is different than the other signatures but this is not a casual restaurant. As long as you are comfortable being in that environment in shorts, you will be seated.

Wow, lots of different answers!
So, basically if I wear nice shorts, they won't kick us out? It is our anniversary (and bdays too, crazy, huh?) and I wanted to order a cake and everything.
We are going to EPCOT that day anyway, so I wanted to be sure so we didn't have to change if we didn't have to-we are staying at POR and I don't know how long the buses are going to be!

Bistro is one of the places that people will go to just for dinner. And dress a little nicer.

I am hoping to get an ADR there for early May and we plan on changing before dinner.

However, it IS in a theme park. Collar shirt for him, nice top for you, you should be fine.

Funny Story: Last May I was walking around the UK area when we noticed this young couple. He was in dress pants, dress shirt, dress shoes, and had a tie stuck in his pocket. His companion was in the most beautiful formal dress (the kind you wear on a cruise for formal night). It was a long formal halter with a beautiful sequined bodice. Anyway, she had her dress held way up, had on tennis shoes, and had a pair of red sandals in her hand that had like 5-6" heels. They were really rushing toward France. Everyone was sortof staring because of how fast they were pushing through the crowds and the way they were dressed. She saw everyone staring, laughed, and called out 'we're late for the Bistro'. It was really funny, and two thoughts crossed my mind: #1. was she going to be overdressed? and #2. what was she going to do with those tennis shoes, when she changed into those heels? What she had on was really beautiful though and they looked so cute rushing through Epcot in their finery.

We've been to Bistro several times, have seen couples in coat/tie, dress & heels to park clothes & sneakers. That said it is a very nice place, and it's about your comfort zone. When we go, I usually trade up from shorts to nice Capri pants with cute flat slides or sandals and a nice blouse (sometimes I bring a shrug or sweater, dining room can get a little chilly). As long as you are neat and put together, you should be fine.

Oh, and the cake: the desserts at Bistro are very good, hate for you to miss out. On our last trip, for my sister's birthday, she had the dessert sampler and they wrote "Happy Birthday" in chocolate on the plate, a nice touch. FWIW.
