I have read that Bistro de paris will participate in the DDP in 2012. To my limited knowledge, all of the DDP restaurants offer a kids menu. Currently, Bistro does not. Do you think they will have one when they start taking the DDP?

They may just want to remain a more adults only (well a disney adult is 10 so not so adult...LOL) restaurant...which I can completely understand.

I am thinking of making an ADR there instead of Le Chefs, but my ds10 wouldn't eat anything on the menu. (We will more than likely be paying OOP for him for the trip so he can eat kids meals....eats like a bird and is very picky!!!)

Any thoughts???

I have no idea if they will offer a child's menu or not. They are not owned by Disney, so I'm not sure if there is actually a rule that would require them to offer one.

I would really like to know where you heard that they were going to be on the next dining plan offer, so I could read more about it.

I'm sad to see this as Bistro has always been so adult plus now they will have to cut back on their offerings to meet the DDP cost budget. I'm sure they are going to have to offer some sort of children's fare as they would not want to serve adult entrees for children's dining plan credit value.

I totally agree! I also think that being on the DDP will help destroy the peaceful, relaxing ambience that Bistro de Paris offers. I agree that it is an adult atmosphere, and I hope it remains that way.

It's going to be 2 TS credits per person. Not sure about the kids menu but if you have a picky eater, Le Chefs might be better since its only 1 TS credit.

Well nutz. There goes the neighbourhood. Sorry, but I think you're right. The DDP will be a real buzz kill. The menu will be pulled down and they'll have to offer a childs menu which will mean the end of a lovely, adult oriented, quiet dinner. Sigh. Being signature might help a little bit, but not much. Just look what Cali Grill is like on any given evening.

I suppose I'll be royally flamed for wanting just one or two places where adults can go for a quiet meal:sad2:. That's OK. Feel free.

Well nutz. There goes the neighborhood . .

1) Yep.
2) Say good-bye to the places people love.
. . . Fulton's
. . . Portobello
. . . Wolfgang's Dining Room
. . . Bistro
3) DDP is going to change them for the worse - or maybe worst. (IMHO) *
. . . dumbed-down menus
. . . lesser quality
. . . patrons who don't know how to act a better eateries
. . . folks who come to pig-out instead of enjoying a fine meal
. . . unruly and noisy children

* Assuming history of other places repeats itself.
They go DDP and everything suffers.
And there is no evidence it will not repeat.

Totally agree with you guys. Going DDP changes places for the worse.

Although, I do have to say that last time I had a regular ADR at Bistro in December 2010, it was like the place was on DDP already....
Patrons in t-shirts, crowded, noisy, and lots of screaming kids. :confused3

Well, at least we'll still have the Swan and Dolphin restaurants (Shula's, bluezoo and Il Mulino) and V&A's... until Disney finds a way to take those from us as well.

Just an FYI. You will have to purchase the adult DDP for your son whether you choose to pay OOP for him or not. ALL members of the party must be on the same plan. You can order off of the child's menu at the vast majority of restaurants when you are on the plan.

No idea whether or not Bistro will have its own kids menu, but I'm betting they are now obligated to have one as they don't want to be serving children on the DDP adult entrees.

In the past, they've used the children's menu from Chefs de France, so if they do that it won't help you if your child doesn't like the menu from Chefs. Not sure how they could do that and expect to charge 2 credits for it though.

I don't think they can accept the DDP and expect to remain a more "adult" type restaurant.

I think the OP knows that and is considering having her child order from the children's menus because he doesn't like the adult menus. If they pay OOP for the child's meals, anyone in the party can use the leftover adult credits, so the family may get another meal out of it.

This is a downer:sad2: I have a child but love Bistro for its adults only vibe.I would NEVER bring my kid there and now that it will be on the DDP it is going to stink...May as well make it all one big restuarant since the menus will probably be the same

Yes, exactly that. We have the free dining pkg, so it is fine if we pay OOP or have the boys share meals.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see if a new menu is released.
