Birthstone rings?

If you wear one, is it your birthstone or your child's or grandchild's?

I wear my son's birthstone (peridot) because I don't like my own (sapphire).

For my (ahem...40th) birthday a few months ago, my parents bought me an opal ring, earrings and pendant which I love. It is my birthstone, but it is a rather delicate stone so I don't wear them too often. I'm afraid they will break.

I love gemstones, so I wear any of them. My birthstone is aquamarine. I have a beautiful pair of earrings made with aquamarines that I love to wear.

Janice -- you probably know this already, but saphires come in beautiful shades of pink and green too. Pink saphires are one of my very favorite gems. The pink color is very deep.

I wear my son's birthstone for two reasons I suppose. #1 my ring is a mother's ring and it was given to me by my son and #2 I really don't like my birthstone either (garnet).

I wear my own birthstone on a ring (blue saphire-sept)

and I have a charm necklace with my 3 kids on it. 1 diamond (april) one ruby (july) and a blue topaz (december). People sometimes kid me and say I am wearing the "red/white and blue"

Could I use a pink sapphire for my birthstone? That's a thought although I am happy with my peridot ring.

I don't like the dark blue sapphire you see most of the time. There's one called Ceylon (I think) that's a lighter shade of blue, and I'd prefer it, but man, is it expensive.

i wanted to wear my DS (emerald-may). mine is june-pearl. dont care for those.
i couldnt find an emerald that didnt look gaudy on my finger so i have a gorgeous puple tanzanite set. purple is my favorite color. and besides...i look so young i cant get anyone to show me anything at the jewelery stores!!

I wear my birthstone all the time. I just love the Amethyst! Maybe I should look for a new one to treat myself...one with Amethyst and Diamonds! DH and DS are both diamond.

I wear my BS at times it's a pearl or the other stone,Alexdrite I think it is for june. I also have a beautiful ruby ring my Fiance gave me as a bday gift one year that is his BS. My parents as gave me a daughters ring which is my bs in middle with theirs on each side in interlocking loops.
I now have a diamond so the other rings take turns

Mine is a RUBY !! I was quite excited when I bought it for myself a couple of years ago when I came into some money. I got it for just a little over $100 at Sears...on sale AND 50% off!! Not bad for a ring that was originally over the $200 mark huh??

I have a June b-day and I do wear a pearl ring sometimes, but what I really want is a Mother's ring. My twins were born in April & my DS was born in Feb. so my ring would be 2 diamonds & an amethyst. I think I'll tell DH how badly I need that for Christmas.
