Hi, we've finally booked for halloween and this is the first time we've told the kids that we're going without suprising them on the morning we go !! they're so excited ! :dance3:

By coincidence it's going to ds1's 12th birthday the day after we arrive and seeing other people have birthdays there in the past we're planning on suprising him with a birthday cake in cafe mickey.

Has anyone ever done this ? Also, I'm sure I've read that you can get 'birthday badges' from the town hall and characters give a little more attention or is this wdw :confused3

Any ideas to make his birthday more special would be appreciated :thumbsup2

congratulations on booking to return to The Magic :goodvibes.

I book a birthday cake at Cafe Mickey for just about every excuse I can possibly think of :lmao: - its great!

you don't get birthday badges as such at City Hall, you can get a sort of birthday sticker though (its card and you can write your child's name on it). Nothing to stop you taking your own birthday badges for your DS too.

Congratulations!!!

Birthdays at Cafe Mickey are FAB - just don't order dessert!!! :lmao:

My family made me wear a birthday badge although I did draw the line at a big one :rotfl2: a lot of CMs went out of their way to wish me bon anniversaire. Hope your DS has a fantastic birthday.

i would definitely take your own badge, the one from city hall isn't much good but nice for scrapbooking. He'll love the birthday cake at cafe mickey ..... I would post my video but naughty puppy has broken the laptop so I'm stuck with my mobile :(

We went to get a birthday badge for my little boy. The woman I spoke to didn't seem to know about getting anything for having a birthday. She said happy birthday to him and I had to ask about a sticker. He didn't get a sticker but the same badge all the kids got when we checked in at the hotel and I had to write his name on it where I could find room......

He did get a phone call from Mickey though in a separate room which he liked :)

We also had a birthday cake at Cafe Mickey - a joint birthday cake with our friends little girl - they were both 6. They loved it although Matthew looked a little bewildered :rotfl:

We did have pudding (to die for I must say) so we took the cake away with us and then cut it into 9 and we took it to the park the next day and we ate it in the queue for Autopia at 9:45 in the morning :goodvibes Yummy!!!

Suzie.
