I am trying to figure out what to do for DD12s upcoming 10/7 bday.
This Pat E. Cake party at the Plaza inn is about the only thing we havnt done at DL. We have seen a bit of it through the bushes ( lurking lol ) before. Looked like people were enjoying themselves. :)
And for 15.99 per person sounds reasonable. Does anyone know how long it lasts and what time of day it starts? I can't remember what time it was when we saw it. Any other thoughts on it?
TIA

We've done it. It's great for the under 5 crowd. I wouldn't recommend it for older than that. Really it's a loud clown type, a photo, and a large cup cake that everyone gets to decorate yourself. When we did it the price was $8 a head and I thought it was steep! :scared1: Perhaps they've added something the last couple of years?!? We did it in '07 I think...

Anyway -- was not so impressed at the time with the whole thing. Has DD has a Princess makeover at the castle? There's no age limit on that. Took 21 year-old niece for that a month ago -- was a surprise. It was the best $45 I've ever spent. We could play that video every night! popcorn:: Was her first trip to Disneyland (my brother is a neglectful parent :goodvibes) anyway -- later that day she ducked on the jungle cruise & the skipper assured "Sparkles" that it would be OK. :rotfl2: She glowed & sparkeled her way around the park all weekend. princess:

We did it last October, also had photo op with Mickey and Minnie, but not autograph signing. It was for DD's 6th birthday.

Would I do it again, probably not, but DD wants to do it again for her birthday next year. She loved it.

We did it for my daughter's 4th birthday, almost 4 years ago. We had a good time and she loved it. When we did it, it was only $10 pp. I don't think I would do it again though, with the higher prices. I think it lasted about an hour?? I agree that I think it's probably geared towards the younger crowd.

thanks for the replies....
Sounds like younger kids would enjoy it more and Loud clown :scared1: I dont do loud clown very well lol!
Hmm we will have DGD1 with us. I was thinking the BBB would be fun for DD12 but not sure how to keep DGD1 entertained. since she isn't old enough to participate in a makeover; that is why Pat E. Sounded like a good option. :confused3
we are already going to MTOTP on the 8th, but her birthday is the 7th so I wanted to do something a little extra.
Maybe I will just go ahead and make a ressie for BBB and hope for the best with DGD1 :worship:
Thanks :)

Here is a pic of Pat E. Cake, the host (not a clown :))

Thanks Kayla's Mom :) so he's a baker lol
Is that your daughter? Very cute! :)
IDK now I am thinking my DD12 might enjoy this a little :confused3
she loves any chance to decorate cakes. I used to be a decorator my DD18 is one currently so we kind of compete against each other lol although we all dislike cake and frosting! :lmao:

Yes, that's my DD, she is almost 8 now...(sigh) :sad1:

We really enjoyed it when we went, but we only had to spend $30 at the time, now at 15.99 and another little one...we are putting the $$ towards Ariel's for DD's b-day this year, which she loves.

As cake decorators you guys could have your own little contest.
And yes, I definitely remember that we didn't eat much of the cake.

I am pretty sure they give a discount for APs and maybe even AAA, in case that helps you.

I was going to ask about the birthday cakes, so a big thank you to OP and the others for the information. Other than the shape of the cake pan, is there any Mickey theme at all?

I have done the Birthday Celebration four times. The first time was March 2003 for my mom's 50th birthday, we also did it for her 55th, for my nephew's 7th birthday, and last week for my husband's 39th. I am going again in September for my 40th.

It's lame & corny, but I think it's fun. It went about 45 minutes. Basically, you decorate your cake in a contest (we're ALL winners!!!), then they have the birthday people come up & Mickey & Minnie come in. They then have all the birthday people do a "birthday conga" around the restaurant, and everyone then lines up for a picture with the Mice. Then you eat your cake!

Like I said, lame & corny, but fun. I have that song stuck in my head now: "happy birthday, happy birthday, happy happy birthday to you..." :dance3:

You get 10% off with AP.

I'm so all over that for my DD's birthday! I love that Mickey AND Minnie will be there. She probably would like it for the cake decorating and eating alone, but add the photo op and I think it will be totally worth it!

Do you PS for this just like any other dining event?

I made a date with Pat E. Cake for Oct 7th! :thumbsup2
I am actually thinking this is going to be fun
thanks everyone :)

This sounds like a lot of fun, but we don't have anybodies birthday during that time. Does it need to be your birthday. I hope not.

thanks for answering all the questions. Looks like so much fun for kids ages 4 and 2 and a good rest for mom & dad.
