There is a thread here on the Dis that makes the designs you for free. You need to buy magnet paper from Office Max and print them out on your home printer. Cheaper than buying them off Etsy. Also do the FE exchange. It's so much fun.

Thanks, yes I have seen the free designs and will probably request a couple as they are really well done. I have no desire to do the FE, but will bring treats for my kids that I will say Elsa or Minnie left for them.

I had the birthday cake thing, and it was pretty gross to my palate. Don't skip out on other dessert, just in case.

I really want to surprise someone with a cruise. I feel like that would be sooooo fun!

Some have fun. We surprised DS with one (mainly b/c we didn't want him talking about it with some people ahead of time, not out of a huge urge to surprise him) and while he liked it, he told us very clearly that that was enough. He likes the anticipating and planning nearly as much as the cruise. (just like me!)

Oh I will have to look into that! I have ideas and have been saving stuff I see. Even bought the magnet paper but can't do them right now as DD is home. School starts soon.

You don't have to get the special celebration dessert at dinner. For my birthday the server brought over a mickey bar (my preferred dessert) that they decorated with chocolate sauce and mickey sprinkles.

That sounds like a great idea! Do I let the server know before dinner or is this something I should plan even before that? I think she would like that more than those chocolate mousse looking desserts.
