Cast Lisa (me) hard of hearing, birthday girl, 54
Jim (my dh) non Disney lover, 54 (only goes for me)
Got up at 5am to be out the door by 6am and on the road north to WDW. Took the turnpike most of the way then Osceola Parkway into WDW. Arrived about 10:30 at Coronado Springs Resort. Room was ready in Casitas 2. Fairly close to thing but I would have preferred to be even closer. Really far from the bus stop.
Took the car and drove to Ft Wilderness to leave the car since we were going to the 7:15 Hoop Dee Doo Show. Grabbed a bus to TTC and the monorail to MK and arrived just in time for some pin trading and visiting with the regular DIS gang. Got to meet a few. Stayed for Scoop's Talk even without an interpreter (I didn't request it because we weren't sure I would arrive in time) Scoop was easy to lipread and very good at remaining so I could see his face. Have no idea what others were asking though except from the context of Scoop's answers. Got a birthday hug from Scoop. Then went to City Hall to get my GAC and birthday pin. The birthday pin will be donated to my favorite class for the kids to wear on their birthdays.
Back on the monorail and off to EPCOT to watch the street shows in England and France. Theresa was interpreting today. Talked with her for a bit before I headed back to Ft Wilderness for Hoop Dee Doo.
Arrived at Ft Wilderness and picked up tickets. Then we got our picture and went up to wait via the ramp. Entered and were seated in the front on the right side. Ordered drinks and started in on salad. Then of course the show started with loud banging. As the cast came on stage the interpreters entered too and my seat was perfect for seeing them. Vince and Tara were interpreting tonight. Vince has the most incredible facial expression and Tara is really into this show. When it came time for recognizing birthdays I raised my hand and one of the firls came over to ask my my name, where I was from and how old. Only problem was I could not read her at all. Don't know what the problem was but the lighting wasn't all that great and she must have an accent. Fortunately Tara jumped in and signed the questions to me. The people icked from the audience were hysterical. One guy was a real ham. It was really a fun night.
