I will be celebrating my 50th birthday at WDW in a couple weeks!!!
What special things should I know about , to make my birthday extra special? Thanks. Sue

I am not certain of the specifics - but what we plan to do for DD is to get a Birthday Button at Guest Relations (?) at MK. This is to let CMs know it is your birthday and you might get some special attention.

We have also called the restaurants where we are eating to order a special birthday cake. We paid extra for it - but you will likely get a complimentary birthday dessert at any restaurant if you metion it when you are seated (or upon arrival).

Hi Sue,

" Happy birthday" in advance to you! When I had my birthday at Disney World, we made reservations at Chef Mickeys in the contemorary resort. I would highly recommend eatting there for lunch or Dinner! It does not matter how old you are becasue they make a big deal over everyone(and even more so when its your birthday)! It is alot of fun, because Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Chip and Dale and Donald Duck will come over to your table while you are eatting( how cool is that)! When we made reservations, we told them that is was my birthday and that we would like to have a small cake made(we did have to pay for the cake, because it was a special order from there bakery). They did a great job on the cake and it tasted good too! The best part was that Minnie Mouse her self brought my cake out and then everyone was singing "Happy birthday" to me ( it was great)! I know they also sell "Happy birthday" or its "My birthday today" buttons, at the gift stores. And when you where them you will get even more recognized by cast members and other guests! Also here is the # to call if you want to make reservations for a meal- 1-407-WDW-DINE
I hope this info. helps, and have a great birthday at Disney World!
P.s. Let me know, how everything went(when you get back)!

I stand corrected - the free birthday pins are at City Hall in the Magic Kingdom. Be sure to get one first thing in the morning!!

I also hear they decorate the table and have a little cake at Cinderella's royal table :)

what special things to do...

Smile a lot, have the time of your life, hug your family.

Happy Birthday

poohstx - Happy Birthday ! I'm taking my family for my 50th, too! I plan on collecting and wearing the birthday buttons once at each park - I made PS at Ohana for the night before my b'day (our last night at WDW) requested table by the window, hoping for a good view of Wishes, and noted my birthday on the reservation - don't want a cake because I'm looking forward to the pineapple/caramel dessert - just stick a candle in it!:p Made PS for Chef Mickeys the next morning - want my pic with the mouse on my big day :teeth: ! - and the opportunity to embarrass my children with my napking twirling skills!! Then we check out and head over to Hard Rock to meet more family and friends and have dinner that night at MamaDella's- the whole trip will be magical because I'll have all of my kids (and brand-new granddaughter!) together in WDW for the first time in almost 10 years - what more could a mother want ?!!:smooth: (a Mickey crazy mom, that is!;) )
