Birthday that made you go, "YIKES!"

Similarly, my oldest sister turned 70 in 2022, 6 months after our mom died. Our baby brother turned 60 in October & our youngest sister (62) retired at the same time. It was startling to realize we were now officially the oldest generation in our family. And we’re aging quickly. :sad1:
Hugs, losing a parent is hard at an age. My Mama died seven years ago but there are times when I still go to call her to share something.

100% - Thanksgiving seems like yesterday and we're already 64 days into 2024!

My Dad and his cousins are the oldest generation in our family.

I too allowed my hair to go gray, actually pure white, in my case. Decided to start dyeing it again several months ago. Have gone through the cycle a few times since my late 30s. Just like allowing it to grow and then chopping it off.
You're right about the privilege.
I had been dying mine with streaks of purple but it got harder to maintain. I mean why not?

Me last one, 64, like in the Beatles song. So 65 is coming up and I suppose I should sign up for Medicare though I am still working and have medical insurance from that. I guess you sign up for part A and delay all the other parts until you stop working?

Definitely 30. For whatever reason, my perception growing up was that all the fun stops after your 20's. Not exactly true, but since I was pregnant at 30, it was definitely when things switched from going out and having fun with friends to family responsibilities. Oh, and a major loss in sleep time!

Medicare can be daunting. Start early to learn about it. My recommendation is to start with actual government sites, they don't have a dog in the fight.

A good source to get an idea of what to be doing and suggestions on further sources.

You can always call Medicare. I have always found them to be knowledgeable and helpful.

Start early.

Mine was 65, when I signed up for Medicare. MEDICARE!! 😲 YIKES! That is OLD, in my eyes. But. I’m thankful to have reached that milestone, many don’t.
LOL, I know - my brother is our agent and thank God because it is not the easiest insurance program to navigate for novices!

Turned 30 two weeks ago! Now my back hurts.
That's about the age I was when my back began bothering me a lot. Doc sent me to a neurosurgeon who told me I'd be wheelchair bound by 50. That age has come and gone and still no chair. I do need a rollator from time to time when the pain is severe.
Baby yourself when back pain flares.

30 was definitely my yikes birthday as well. I fell into quite the funk in the weeks leading up to it and now, at 48, I look back and think why did I fear it so much? But you get inside your own head and it's hard to get out of it sometimes! I thought 40 would be tougher but by then I had two kids to chase after and was just happy to have a kid free night/overnight without being "mom" to celebrate 🥂😂
