Birthday surprise suggestions for room

We are going the first week in March, staying at RPR, for my son's 7th birthday. We went to Disney last year and checked in on his birthday. I was able to order a Disney basket with balloons, a giant singing Mickey balloon, a Jedi Mickey and some Mickey shaped Rice Krispie Treats, that they ran up to the room as soon as we checked in. I called Universal to see if they offered or suggested anywhere and their only suggestion was a flower place. Flowers won't cut it.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Also, any suggestions as to a good birthday dinner place?
We are checking in on a Tuesday to RPR.

I am also interested to hear about good bday places for children and what can be done for their bdays - surprising my daughter with a trip for her 9th bday...we are staying at the HRH.

I was just thinking about letting her pick out her own gift from the shops (that would be a big deal to her!) but any suggestions are definitely welcome!

I would call ahead and ask. We stayed at HRH for our honeymoon and my hubby had some surprises waiting on us. I'm sure they can help you put something together.

I've read that the hotels will make cakes, but there is a Publix close by so we ran and picked up a great cake, balloons and flowers all at a much more reasonable cost.

Yes...Publix is located right up the street from Universal in the Kirkman Oaks Shopping Center...very close.
