We are heading to Disney in April 2005. My husband will be celebrating his 45th birthday while we are there. Does anyone have any suggestions for something to surprise him with?
Not too expensive please
Thanks for your help!!!
Boma's at Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great buffet for breakfast or dinner. O'Hana's at the Poly is fun. How about the Hoop-De-Doo Musical Review & Dinner at the Disney Campgounds? That's a lot of fun. California Grill at The Contemporary is fun but a little pricey. On most nights, you can see the MK fireworks if you time it right. Maybe one of the countries at Epcot. If he likes steak, Le Cellier in Canada is fabulous!
Edited to add: We recently celebrated my wife's b-day at MK. If your husband is willing to play along, stop by the MK Guest Relations & get him a "It's My Birthday!" button to wear. Dozens of cast members & other guests wished my wife a happy birthday while we were there. We even got a free dessert at Liberty Tree Tavern!
What type of meal are you looking for to celebrate DH's birthday? My DH is fun-loving and likes the theming at WDW restaurants. When he's at WDW, he's not really looking for fine dining. Sci Fi is his favorite restaurant at WDW so that's where I'd take him for his birthday.
If your DH is more into good food and less into theming, there are some excellent restaurants at WDW, but most of them are expensive. Some are more reasonable than others though. I think one of the best choices for good food that's not outrageously expensive is Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort.
Are you looking for something in a resort, or in one of the parks? Does he have certain food preferences - steak, seafood, spicy, anything goes?
Give us a few more details and I'm sure we can come up with some suggestions.
Thanks for the suggestions you've already given. Here's some more info. We haven't been to Disney in 8 years. We are going with our three children (daughter age 16, son age 13, and son age 7).
I though we would do something to surprise and or embarrass my husband for his 45th Birthday!
It can be anything! Special dinner or activity, anything fun!
Keep the suggestions coming!
We already have ps at Sci- Fi, Concourse steakhouse, a character Breakfast @ Chef Mickey's, Planet Hollywood, and Rainforest Cafe. We also have a ps @ the Spirit Of Aloha dinner show.
Thanks again!

Hi Caseybum! We are going to WDW in May and we'll be there for my 39th B-day. When I reserved our room at the WL, I told them that I would be celebrating my B-day while we were there. I read alot of posts on the boards here that said to mention any special occasion that might be going on while you are visiting WDW and you might be pleasantly surprise. I don't expect anything from them, but if something is done I would be absolutely thrilled. I never do anything special for my birthday, always doing something for someone else's so that would really be nice for me. We didn't really plan on going for my birthday it just to happened that my B-day fell on the weekend that we could actually go.
Anyway, I am surprising my DH and DD with an Illuminations Cruise (I'm not going to tell them about it until we get there). I saw on the boards that someone was asking for others to join there cruise with them (It saves money when more people are on one cruise boat). That is kind of my birthday present to me as well. I have also thought about going to the Hoop De Doo Review. Being it is my birthday though, I really don't want the attention and embarassment, but I really do want to go to this show!!
Those are some ideas. To see if someone is looking for people to join their Illuminations or Wishes Fireworks cruise, go to the thread called "Illumination Cruise Central" (I think that's right). There is one in that that thread for April.
Good Luck and I hope your DH has a very Happy Birthday!!
