Birthday suggestions for arrival day

I wasn't sure what board to post this on but here goes. We will be staying at the VWL in December and on our arrival day it will be my daughter's 22nd birthday. It is also her first trip to WDW. We will be arriving mid day and have myself, husband, son (16), daughter (22), son-in-law and their baby (18mos). I'd like to do something special since it's her birthday and their first ever trip but it is also our arrival day and with travel I don't know how tired the baby will be. We haven't booked flights yet but I think we'll try to get them early so we can be settled before supper. Does anyone have any ideas to make this day extra special. Should we stay at the resort or attempt an evening in a theme park? Which park? I'll take any and all suggestions - thanks!!

We were there last year for my birthday. If you stop at any of the guest relations at any of the parks, they will give her a button to wear that says it is her birthday. Cast members will wish her a happy birthday and actually guests said it too. That was kind of neat. I think it was at EPCOT, but may have been Magic Kingdom that when I stopped to ask for a button, the phone rang and they handed it to me and it was Goofy wishing me a Happy Birthday.

I have been researching options for my own 50th birthday bash in August.

You can make a PS at a restaurant in a resort. After you have the PS, a few weeks in advance you can call and order a birthday cake.
