Birthday question-Do you get 1 park admission or hopper?

Just wondering for those that get a free ticket for their birthdays to get in, do you get a 1 park only admission-do you pick which one, or do you get a 1 day hopper pass?

you get a one park admission but can upgrade to a hopper - I think I paid 25.00 to upgrade to a hopper.

Yes, it's a one day one park ticket only. I thought it was specifically for Disneyland, not sure if you can request California Adventure. Yes, I'd imagine they would let you upgrade - anything to make more money !

I just spent my birthday there, I have an annual pass so I got a cool $69.00 gift card from them . Wasn't sure if I should get lots of inexpensive souvenirs, or splurge on the pricey stuff. Ending up getting 3 items - sweatshirt, t-shirt, license plate frame. Oh well, I would never pay $44 for a sweatshirt but wasn't my money so thought I should take advantage of it .
