Birthday/pool party ideas - Help please!

My DD will be celebrating her 11th birthday with a pool party.

I am clueless as to what to do for games. My DD would like for everyone to go home with a small prize of some sort. There will be 7 girls total.

What have you done or could you suggest?

here's a couple of game ideas that are great for a pool:

blow a ping pong ball across the pool with a straw - 1st one across wins

dive for pennies - the one with the most wins

wind up toy race - the one that goes the farthest wins

check out www.orientaltradingcompany.com for great and inexpensive party favors. They have a whole luau (sp?) line that might be great for a pool party.

We were supposed to do a pool party for DS this year, but the pool we were going to use is closed for renovations. Anyway, for party favors we were going to get small canvas bags from the craft store and paint each childs name on it with a sun and then we were going to fill it with a pair of sunglasses, a blow up beach ball, bubbles, tattoos and some candy. I am not sure what 11 year old girls like, but you can tailor the "beach" bag to their likes.
