I've heard of people having bday pins and CM going out of their way to do special things. Where do you get these pins and how do they work? Are they only for bdays or also for anniversaries? (WE'll celebrate BOTH while there!)

THANKS!!

I know you can get First Trip, birthday and anniversary pins to wear on your trip. In MK you can get them at City Hall, right by the entrance. If you wear a b-day or ann. pins at a character meal, you may get a placemat or special cupcake. Enjoy!

Yes, they have both birthday and anniversary buttons. I don't know if you can see it very well, but I am wearing both in my sig pic below. My husband is wearing an anniversary button, too.

I got mine from guest services at one of the parks.

I mostly got a lot of "Happy Birthday's" from the CMs. But I did get a few cupcakes at our table service meals.

Hope that helps. :goodvibes

Ohhh the FIRST TRIP button would be great for DH and the 2 girls! Thanks for all the info!

If you are staying onsite, you can also get pins at the front desk at the hotel when you check in.

It seems like everyone is wearing some sort of button at the parks now...1st Trip...Annniversary...Happy Birthday...etc. Just please don't expect much more than "Happy Birthday" from the cm's or some stickers for the kids. It is not often that they go too much out of their way to do much more than that.

I wore my birthday pin while I was there (my birthday trip woohoo) and had a great time. I wasn't expecting anything, but I received a card and a balloon from Minnie in my room when we returned from the park one day. At the late Spectromagic parade, Peter Pan walked over and hugged me and then Pluto did. Alice in Wonderland waved and yelled Happy Birthday. Quite a few characters did, and the lady next to me asked me how could they know it was my birthday? The CM's were great about spotting it and I was constantly being told Happy Birthday. A very nice CM from Scotland gave me a free frozen lemonade in World Showcase. It was just a lot of fun and made me smile a lot!!

When DH and I went in December, we got Honeymoon pins from the hotel lobby @ CBR.

Quite a few CM's said congrats, etc.
We also got a free margarita in Epcot/WS, and a free turkey leg at DHS! At the Concourse Steakhouse they put candles & confetti on our deserts. We also got the balloon & card in our room, too.

I don't think we got anything else free, but that's still about $15 dollars worth of food for free! WOOHOO!

In my post I said not to *expect* too much since it doesn't ALWAYS happen. It would be tough to read the wonderful stories here about people getting things free on their special day and then not getting something yourself. Just like the Year of a Million Dreams promotion - many go and get no dreams.

I hope that you enjoy your trip!

My ds will turn 7 the week before we get to Disneyworld. Can he still get a pin, or does it have to be the actual bday?

It does not have to be his actual birthday. I was also told by Guest Services that I should wear it my whole trip since this was a special time. I didn't wear it every day, but my son did wear his first time pin every day.
