Hi all,

We are taking our twins daughters to Universal February 8-12 to celebrate our twin daughters' tenth birthday. It will be our first stay at the HRH. Does anyone know if the HRH does anything "special"? Are we better off calling ahead of time and having it appear on our reservation or are we better off telling someone when we check-in?

Thanks!

Karen & Barney

I sure do hope they do. I remember awhile ago someone going for an anniversary and getting something when they stayed at the HRH . We are booked for April 30th till May 4th for my daughters sweet 16. I am going with a friend and she is taking a friend instead of a huge expensive party . . Please let us know if they do anything for your girls.:thumbsup2

We stayed at HRH in Feb 2007 for my husband's birthday. We got a lovely card from the manager with vouchers for free breakfast at the Kitchen. The also did the milk and cookies for the kids along with a bottle of white wine on ice for us :lovestruc :cloud9:

It was very nice.

We were at Royal Pacific for our DD 15th birthday. I mentioned it at check-in. When we got back from the parks one night there was a nice card and a plate with a little to die for desert with strawberries on it. Written in chocolate syrup was "Happy Birthday Kerryn". We took pictures of it before she ate the whole thing herself!!! She said it was delicious!! :cake:

tlinus here on the DIS stayed last year at her DD bday.... The HRH sent up a popcorn tin w/ sodas and free movie(s) and candy...she has a pic of it in her TR from last year ;)

I wonder if you have to mention it at check in ?:confused3 I think that is what I am going to do . Her Birthday is the Saturday we are there and I hope they do something for her it would really make her day. I am thinking of a nice dinner that night maybe at the HRC . Are there any other suggestions for a Sweet 16 Dinner ? I am more excited then her I think :lmao: .

I called ahead on our last trip in December for my BF's birthday to see if the HRH did anything and they said no. I arranged then to get something placed in the room for our arrival. I got a little beer and nut basket for him as I thought he would really enjoy it. When we arrived in the room, the presentation was fantastic! And the beer selection was awesome (all imports! and the nuts were great!), and they brought it with a nice card signed from the staff. They told me the cost of the basket would be around $35, but when I looked at my credit card bill, the cost was only $15 - so they gave me a GREAT deal for what we got....They put it in the room right before we got there, so the beer was still so cold - it was wonderful and I would get it again in a heartbeat!

I think tlinus did mention it on her res and at check-in.... I'm thinking because maybe it was a 'child' they did something special :confused3

I emailed HRH yesterday to ask if there was anything special they can do to surprise my husband for his birthday on our upcoming trip and they sent over three documents with different amenities and pricing.

I will probably order something special for him, but it would be great if he can get a little something extra from them, too! But it's unlikely - I'm so unlucky with it comes to scoring stuff like that for us! :confused3

Where did you find their e-mail ? I was thinking of having something sent to my daughter from us on her birthday while we are there . Since my DH,DD and DS won't be with us they are going to be home I though it would be nic eto have something sent from them . You can send it to me in a Private message that would be great . Thanks :surfweb:

I guess this all depends on who gets the email and who checks you in. I emailed ahead for my hubbys 40th, paid for a deluxe room and to my pleasure was placed in "The Dungeon" on Level 1 where they put the dogs and smokers. IMHO .... I have learnt to my peril .... it pays not to ask!

I am sorry to hear that . I am booked Club level so the floor isn't an issue for me . I just want to make her day as special as possiable . I guess it is a wait and see kind of thing.

Spot on! going back in August and have booked Club level

We stayed at HRH on Club Level for DS's birthday and they didn't do anything for free. But I did set-up a gift basket with them that cost $35.

When we stayed at RPR for his birthday another year, I mentioned it was his birthday at check-in and they took down his name. When we arrived back from the parks in the evening this was in our room:

RPR.jpg

I was shocked :scared1: . It included: RPR beach sarong, banana flip flops, RPR disposable camera, necklace with big wood beads, a bottle of Fiji water, jar of gummy bears and a jar of honey roasted peanuts.

My sons name is Devon and I think the gift was for a girl, but he was still happy and I got to wear the sarong and flip flops to the pool :rotfl: .

What a great basket! I love the RPR. Last June we were at PB for my birthday and I just mentioned it jokingly at check-in. Right after we got to our room we were sent up EVERY loews ammenity. When we got back to the room that afternoon the girls at check-in sent me a cheesecake with a candle in it. When we got back that night there were breakfast vouchers for Trattoria waiting along with a bottle of champagne and a platter of chocolate covered strawberries. I love this place!

I found this on Universal's Website, might be of interest. :)

I would definately check out the Trattoria. I did a surprise father/son birthday last fall- their birthdays are a week apart. The dinner they prepared was incredible and the cake was amazing! I told them they both loved chocolate and left it up to the chef. He did an incredible job. The best part was the chef showed up in person for the dinner and he brought ScoobyDoo along to play with my son. My son was thrilled! (He is autistic so we were unsure of how he would react but he loved him!) They also gave my son a huge cat in the hat stuffed animal. They really do go above and beyond at this resort.
