Birthday Park-hopping?

I was wondering if birthday park hopping can work? I'm going to Disney for my 20th birthday and I was wondering if I could park hop from DHS to DMK on the same day for free or could I just get a Park Hopping ticket to buy along with my free birthday ticket? How does Disney track what park you first went to? Thanks. I want to ride so many rides and I have only one day to do them all. Luckily, Feb. 10th is a low crowd day!

"free admission to ONE of the parks" is the quote right off the Disney.go.com promotion page, so it looks like no hopping for free. However, it looks like an "upgrade" to hopper you CAN do...
Here is the answer from the faq Page:

Q: Can I upgrade my free birthday ticket to another ticket type?

A: Yes, the free birthday ticket may be upgraded to another ticket type on your birthday. However the celebrant is responsible for the incremental cost and the new ticket may only be used by the celebrant. The 1-day Magic Your Way ticket good for 12 months (an option for certain passholders and multi-day ticket holders) may not be upgraded.

I was just there yesterday for my birthday. I was given a One Park/ One Day ticket. You are allowed to upgrade that ticket to allow you to park hop or extend your days. Have fun on your birthday. I know I did.
