We'll be in Disney on my birthday (no. 39) during our trip in January. Anyone have any recommendations for a good choice for the restaurant? My DW, DD8, DD6 and DS3 (and my mother) will also be on the trip. I'm particularly interested in recommendations that the kids will enjoy.

Thanks!

Well, it will be my mom's 70th birthday during our trip--we are doing Crystal Palace in the morning for breakfast and Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner!

When I made the ADR's, I made sure to tell them that we were celebrating my mom's birthday.

Have a great trip!

Chef Mickey's they acknowledge bdays with a special placemat and a cupcake-your kids are young- they'd love it!

I would say the Brown Derby, they are a little expensive inside MGM-Studios, but it's so beautiful inside. They have a Roast chicken with buttered rice and dates, I'm sure kids would love the chicken. The desserts are to die for! Chocolate mousse, Cake, Creme brue le'(I don't believe I spelled that right), orange serbet with a biscotti

I would suggest whispering canyon at wilderness lodge...it's fun the waiters are funny they have games for the kids, the food is great..barbecue, they have a huge platter of meat..corn on the cob.mashed pot..and biscuits..and the wilderness lodge is so nice..tell the cm when you check in about the birthday..they had my dd 7 stand on her chair and the whole place sang happy birthday to her..it was great...but since she turned 10 we have had dinner at chef de france, it is so elegant and we have had the same waiter 3 yrs in a row..we request him..lidio.and the food is great

We're leaning towards a late breakfast=early lunch at Crystal Palace. I'm a big fan of the Pooh characters and my kids know it.

We're still trying for an ADR at CRT any morning of our stay if a cancellation comes up, so we may have to bump things around if we get verrry lucky. I think we'll probably go ahead and arrange for the ADR (assuming we can get it). I'm not holding onto too much hope that a CRT ADR for 6 will open up.

Depending on when you go, you may be surprised! We were there in the 2nd week of December in 2004. I was able to get last minute reservations for 9 (2 tables, 1 for 5, 1 for 4, right next to each other) for the following day.

I think most people make a few more reservations than they can handle, so my bet is there are always cancellations. The question is will you be 'the right caller' to get it! ;-)

Just got back from WDW today. Celebrated my 36th birthday at Grand Floridian with an Afternoon Tea for DH, DD11, DS4. Ab Fab.

Ordered a birthday cake from Grand Floridian Bakery to be delivered to Tearoom.

Food was superb.

Then the waitress announced my birthday to everyone. Brought in cake with candle and got everyone to sing Happy Birthday to me whilst they placed a 'Happy Birthday' tiara on my head!

Bit embrassed to wear it in the park so gave it to my DD to wear, and several people in the park commented on how lovely it was and where could they buy one!!

Have a great birthday. :wizard:
