Hi Everyone! I was wondering if anyone can tell me if there is a way i can have Disney send a card or something to my little sister. Her birthday is coming up and unfortunetly our plans to go to Disney for her birthday arent working out. :sad1: Is there a way i can get the characters autograph or writeher a message sent to the house? Any advice would help. Thanks!!

There used to be a number you could call and have a Disney character wish you a birthday message over the phone. Our daughter used to work for Disney few years back and would always have Goofy or Mickey call us for a special occasion. I'm sure other posters can fill in the details and if they still do this.

Why don't you buy your own Disney Card, Sign the Disney signatures yourself and give it to your sister. :confused3

She knows how the characters signatures look. Ive thought of that already....young,not stupid :confused3

???????????? How does anyone know what the signatures look like of characters that don't really exist? It's not the same people playing the characters every time. I'm old and apparently, stupid! Help me out here!

:scratchin

If you send me your address I can get a card signed for you. Just tell me what character and what you would like it to say. I love close to the parks and can do this for you.

The characters are all taught to sign their name the same way. That way if you see the same character in another park the signatures will match.

All cast members are trained to sign autographs the same for each character. Ever since i was young till today i have 5 autograph books filled. Every year i went they all look the same. Since she cant be there to get her own autograph book started. I figured this could be the next best thing. Is it wrong i wanted her surprise to be special and right from Disney?

I've bought postcards and have characters sign them both for our own DGC or for people on these boards.

We're not going until December, if that's not too late, I'll be happy to have some characters sign post cards. If it's too late, start a new thread if you have to and ask!

In the book, Disney on a Dime, there is an address you can write to requesting an autographed picture of your favorite character. They will send it to you - FREE. If you like this idea, let me know and I will post the address. The book is at home or I would post it now. Jim

Wouldn't each character sign their signature differently? They are just people inside those costumes you know. :thumbsup2

No. Mickey has his own signiture, Minnie has her own signiture, ect. Is that what you meant?

No all the cms have to learn the character signatures. It wouldnt make sense if autographs were compared and each one has a different signature.

I would love to have the address. I had to cancel our Jan. trip for ds birthday & this would be great. Thanks!

This is deviating a little from what you want, but in addition, maybe you could call a local florist that does Disney balloons and have them sent on her birthday. It wouldn't have Mickey's signature on it, but you could have the card say it is from the character of your choice.

Or, if you are able to obtain the signature from one of your fellow Dis'ers you could have it attached.

Hope your sis has a wonderful birthday, you are so sweet to want to do something special like that! :goodvibes

Go to the "sticky Thread" "pay it forward" This is set up for disers who are willing to send post cards etc to other disers back home. Ask for someone who will be in the parks at her birthday to have a card signed and send it to her. When is her b-day? We will be down there from 12/16 - 12/26 if these dates work out we would be glad to get a character to sign and then send it to her.

Directly from the Disney on a Dime book:

Contact the WDW Co. before your trip to request autographed character photos for each of your children. Disney provides this service free to all who ask. Just send them a letter or postcard requesting a picture and autograph from your favorite character. Your only cost is the postage. You are allowed one picture per mailed request. Mail requests to:

The Walt Disney Company
Attn: Fan Mail Dept.
500 South Buena Vista Street
Burbank, CA 91521

Allow 4 - 6 weeks for the pictures to arrive.

The only thing I am not sure about is when they mention "your only cost is the postage" Not sure if this means the postage for the mail you are sending or if you are supposed to send them money for the cost of postage to send the pic.

Now my 7 y/o DD has 3 books full of autographs. She noticed this last trip that they are not the same signature. We had 3 different Belles, Minnies, Goofys, and Donalds and every other character! The only ones that were the same were the ones that had the same person over the past few trips sign them.
