My daughter turns 8 while we are on our trip (4 day hopper ticket) and I am wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to make they day extra special. We have prebooked Disneyland for that day over CA.

Just being in Disneyland on her Birthday should be special enough but what little extras can people think of ?

We have a full day planned in the Park but what else - with covid and all the recent changes I am presuming options are limited ? We are doing characters at Storybook the day afterwards so not interested in another Character meal. And its a shame bibbidi bobbidi boutique is closed.

Can you still get Birthday Badges if so where ?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Any/almost all of the stores will have birthday buttons behind the registers. So definitely DO NOT wait in line at city hall in the morning for one. You can actually just ask for one on any day of the trip (it doesn't have to be her actual birthday)

This only works if you are staying in a hotel with a mini-bar with child friendly options: When I turned 8 or 12 in Walt Disney World my parents let me pick a pice of candy from the mini-bar on my birthday. I have no idea what your budget is, but maybe let her pick out a special birthday present/souvenir. See if you can arrange for a favorite character to call the hotel (if you are staying at an on-site hotel) to wish her happy birthday.

Apparently they are doing birthday parties in mickeys house. $350 for a party of 10. I don’t know any details beyond that.

My girls loved getting a "diamond" tiara. They wore them all through their special day. You can get them at the crystal shops (there's one on Main St and one in NOS), and possibly somewhere in DTD, but it's much cheaper to buy your own before you go. It could be a special presentation that morning and she can wear it with her birthday button.

Just wanted to add that I, myself, often opt for a tiara on special occasions. I'm kind of known for it. In fact, I'm wearing one in my driver's license pic lol.

I was actually going to suggest this too. It honestly is a good deal! You basically get a private party for up to 10 people, cupcakes, and a meet and greet with Mickey along with a craft activity. I think the whole thing is 90 minutes. Begins in early March.

Oh my!! I just love this idea. Maybe add a wand for the Bday girl as well. BBB isn't doing the make overs currently but they are open for retail purchases. I'm pretty sure I've seen CM's sprinkling pixie dust out front as well.

A couple more ideas to add on to the already wonderful contributions.

* Dress up in a special outfit for all of the wonderful birthday day pics.
* Buy the Disneyland Birthday cake hat at The Mad Hatter. That will certainly call attention to the special girl!
* Speaking of pics. Don't miss all of the great ideas with the balloons, etc! So fun!
* We've had some of the bands around the resort sing Happy Birthday to us before. Side Street Strutters, off the top of my head.

Have fun! 🎂
