Okay so I've had several people tell me to go to the Whispering Canyon Cafe for dd's b-day dinner. They said my kids would love it?! This may be a little odd but the choice is between Chef Mickey's and there. I really wanted to go to Chef Mickey's but by then (the last full day of our vacation) we will have already done lots of character meals - Crystal Palace, Breakfastosaurus, Liberty Square & Cindy's - I told you it was lots!) Do you think this would be a good place for a special dinner? How hard is it to get to from the MK? And then to get back to our resort? Thanks for your input!

I have eaten at CM's for breakfast but not dinner. I have beent to WCC twice for dinner. They are both a lot of fun. I love CM's character interaction and the food was very good as well. WCC has real good food, a beautiful resort and a lot of fun involved. But I do have a question. Do you want to practically have to yell at each other to talk? There is a lot of noise at WCC, moreso than any other restaurant that I have eaten at on property. Both of them have good food and fun so if you answer the other question, you have your answer.

Hope it helps!

I had my 34th b-day at CM but only because we were going with our 2 nieces, it was our arrival night and we were headed to MNSSHP...we thought it would be fun to start the trip with a bang. THe food was not the greatest but the table was decorated with a special b-day placemat, confetti, the characters came with the server when my cake was delivered and they all "sang" happy b-day to me. The girls loved it...it was very cute.

I would go with CM since it's your dd's birthday. It was one of our favorite character meals.

We always eat at Chef Mickey's for dinner. It has become a tradition for our family and we have eaten a WCC once for dinner. CM is great. Our kids love: THE FOOD, THE CHARACTERS, CHARACTER INTERACTION, AND BEING NEAR MK! You dd will LOVE this meal and they will do something special for her birthday. We didnt care for WCC. My kids didnt care for the entertainment of the server ofr food. I would definetaly go to CM. :rotfl:

How hard is it to get to from the MK? And then to get back to our resort?

It is very easy to get to WCC from MK... There is a boat that takes you there... It takes about 30 minutes depending on when you arrive at the launch... The ride is really nice. You will have to grad the boat back to MK to get back to your resort... Maybe you can plan to go back to MK for fireworks after dinner (check the events schedule before making your ADR) ... You can also stick around WL to see the water parade from the beach... There is a nice play ground right there on the beach... That may be special for your family.

We have been to both places many times... Both are tons of fun... We did CM for my son's birthday and it was very special...

With that said, I think I would do WCC for a few reasons.... I think the food at the CM breakfast is better than dinner... You are doing so many character meals already... That will make WCC special by itself.... Please keep in mind that the menu at WCC is small and the food is simple BUT IT IS REALLY GOOD... The servers are characters and the atmosphere is great!

Make the meal extra special by ordering a cake to be served at the meal ;)

We celebrated my nephew's 6th bday at Chef Mickey's: they did a napkin waving announing his name, he got a laminated birthday placemat(uses it at home), a Mickey decorated cup cake (he ate his usual, the icing). All of those things with the base flair of Chef Mickey's made for a fun and memorable experience. Also with all of the meals you have planned, Chef Mickey's would be your only "Mickey meal". Let the mouse send you home with a bang. They will take a family photo for you a add a "birthday" burst to mark the occassion. It's about a $30 package, but your option to buy.

WCC might be one to save for when DD is a bit more jaded and you want her brought down a peg or two...lol you know the Tween or Teen years? :rolleyes1 Right now she and her brothers would probably all enjoy CM's.
