We are going to be visiting Disney World in August. My wife will celebrate her birthday while there and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for where to go eat for celebrating. There will be two adult and thee kids (17, 9, and 6) with the youngest one being a picky eater. Please help because I would like to surprise my wife because she is fabulous and deserves it.

My plans have changed, but I was going to take my husband to O'Hana at the Poly for his birthday dinner, and watch the MK fireworks from either the restaurant or the beach. This would be a lot of fun for the kids, and if she's like me, a California Grill, or Narcoosee type place with the kids is not worth it!

You can't do better than an evening at California Grill on the Contemporary Resort's 15th floor. It has a superb view of the Magic Kingdom and the Seven Seas Lagoon. Plan your dining time around the Magic Kingdom fireworks. An outside observation deck is the perfect viewing spot. Don't forget to make priority seating by calling 407-WDW-DINE as soon as possible. They can be made 120 days in advance.

As for the pickey eater, they do offer a child's menu of mac 'n' cheese, pizza, fish and chips, roasted chicken breast, or grilled steak. Hope this helps. Have fun!

I agree--California Grill would be a fine choice!! The kids should do fine there, but since this is a birthday dinner for your wife, she should be your #1 priority!!
If for some reason CG won't do, Narcoosee's is also a good spot. Hhasn't got quite the view, but the location right on Seven Seas Lagoon is nice and the food is good too--.

Does anyone know if O'Hana's has a normal kids menu for dinner? My son is quite picky and likes the basics like burgers, macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers, etc. If I kew they served that stuff, I would definitely get a PS for our trip.

I love the CA Grille, but if you want to entertain the entire family AND DW has a sense of humor, consider WL Whispering Canyon Cafe. Last I was there, they really do a B-day justice--and that's not just 'cause the sheriff is in town. After dinner, there are great spots to walk around near the lake. You may be able to get near the fireworks when it comes time. :D

Dh took me to CRT dinner for my birthday, and also one year for Mother's Day and I loved it there both times.
