We are planning to celebrate my DD's 13th birthday at 'Ohana during our vacation. Does anyone know if they do anything special for birthdays?

I've seen cakes delivered that people have ordered. You can call up the Disney bakery and set something up.

Even if you don't have a cake delivered, your "cousin" will announce to the room that it is your birthday. Several "cousins" will come sing, and I believe they give you a cupcake.

That's just it. You don't always get a cupcake. A family next to us told their "cousin" that they were celebrating a birthday. The server announced it to the room but they never got a cupcake. The father was ticked that their kid never got one. So if a cake is really important to you then order one as there is never a guarantee you'll get anything. It seems like every other table is celebrating current birthdays, past birthdays, and future birthdays, along with engagements, weddings. and anything else you can imagine. They ought to just hand everyone a cupcake as they walk in the door! LOL!

You are right! If people definitely want a special dessert, they need to call and order ahead of time. Last time we were there was almost 2 years ago. It was a trip for my 40th birthday and ds's 5th birthday. We went to 'Ohana earlier in the week (before either of our birthdays). We never mentioned the birthdays, but they must have had it from something else, because we did get the announcement, singing, and cupcakes. It is kind of hit or miss sometimes, though. I think that there are a lot more people celebrating something (as you said). :sunny:
