I've seen that many people have gotten a Cupcake for a birthday, often at each TS Restaurant they go to during their stay. Do you request these when you check in for your ADR? Is there a cost or are they free? Thanks!:goodvibes

That is a lot of birthdays for one person!
(My daughter will turn five while we are there in two weeks so I am interested in hearing about this too.)

We got cupcakes at 50's Primetime on our honeymoon. We never asked for them, but we had made a notation when we made the ADR that we were celebrating our honeymoon. They were free of course. Also got a neat congratulations dessert at YAchstmen Steakhouse (free too) for the honeymoon. I think that if you request cup cakes you will be charged for it. If you just casually mention it's a birthday when you make the ADR or when checking in, you MIGHT get a server who wil bring you something nice but it's not a guarantee.

DH and I just celebrated our honeymoon a few weeks ago in WDW. On all of our dining reservations it was noted (and our room reservation). At a few restaurants we were treated to an extra surprise...

Crystal Palace
Chef Mickeys
Boma
Chefs de France
Kona Cafe

usually an extra dessert or a cupcake and there was never any cost.

We also had our just married buttons on that we were given at check in. You should be given one for a birthday too! I would go into it not expecting anything, but if you do get something great.

You can always order a special customized birthday cake to be delivered to your room or to a restaurant if you want something guaranteed, but those cost money.

HTH!

When I took my ds for his 5th birthday, (it was not actually the day of his birthday) but he told the attendant at Crystal Palace that it was his birthday, because we were celebrating it our whole vacation, and when we got to your table it was all set up with streamers and mickey shaped confetti all over the table, then when we where getting ready to leave, the waitress gave my son a bday card signed by Pooh and all his 100 acre friends! I think she was going to bring him a cupcake or something (I could tell by the way she was acting) but he had to go to the bathroom (#2) so bad that we decided to leave, we were done eating anyways! We had to go to the baby center around the corner because they don't have auto flush toilets which my son is terrified of! Sorry for the details, but I'm sure someone out there identifies with me! Anyways, it was a great suprise and something we will never forget. Also if you go to guest services in town hall and tell them it's your birthday, they will give you a button to wear that says today is my birthday! it's very cute.

Yes, we celebrated DD9's birthday at several meals. We had only planned on celebrating it on her actual birthday at 1900 PF - they brought her the cupcake and sang to her and she got the placemat. But, when the CMs noticed when we were checking in at other meals during the week, they would make it a celebration there as well. It was a nice surprise. She got a free ice-cream sundae at Sci-Fi along with a card signed by the CMs there. She got a cupcake at LTT as well. So, as long as it is noted on your reservation, they will probably see it when you check in. It wouldn't hurt to mention it though, just to be sure.

My son celebrated what he called the Year of Million Birthdays at WDW back in July. He got a Happy Birthday button at the MK the first day and wore it all 5 days we were there. He got a free cupcake, pinwheel and birthday card signed by all the Pooh characters at the Crystal Palace. The server also sprinkled Mickey Head confetti all over the table. He got a special certificate signed by many of the servers at Le Cellier. He got ice cream and singing at Rainforest Cafe at AK.

We did not have this noted on our ADRs, this was just from him having the button on. The only place we mentioned it to the server was at Rainforest Cafe.

I got a surprise (and free) birthday sundae at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater.
