Birthday Cruise

When we go on our trip to WDW nxt yr it will be my dad's birthday while we r there.
We are definately booking an illuminations boat cruise and wondered if it would be worth paying a bit more for a birthday themed one.

Has anyone ever done this and what was it like?

We did a birthday cruise out of the Wilderness Lodge last year for my brother's 40th. When we arrived, the boat was decorated with balloons, we had soda, cake (I got to pick the flavor, frosting and writing when I scheduled the cruise), and our guide Jack, a retiree, really talked alot about how the lakes were built and other fascinating Disney history. We watched the fireworks over Cinderella's Castle and, because it was e-ride night, he dropped us off right at the dock to the MK. We enjoyed it so much, we're going back this year for my birthday! I would rate it better than the Illuminations cruise!
