I know that Disney has an elaborate system for specialty cakes, but does Universal have anything similar? It looks like we will be at Universal on my friend's birthday and I'd love to do something special for her. We are going to staying on-site (right now it looks like at Sapphire Falls). We probably won't have a car so going off-site isn't an easy option.

I have had cakes made up at rpr and hrh before, but not recently

Do not know SF hotel will do special request for bakery item

Contact the hotel and they will be able to let you know if they can set up a birthday cake

The place is so new and we readers have limited knowledge on something like this

Call the main UO number and ask them about having a bday cake sent to your restaurant of choice. I know I was transferred during my call, but can't remember to which department exactly. We had a bday cake made for my DD and delivered to Mythos a few years ago (tried the same arrangement 2 years ago but Mythos botched the whole thing). Her cake was a HP themed cake and it was DELICIOUS!

Something HP related would be AWESOME!!! By any chance, do you remember more details (what different things were offered, the size and the price of what you go)? Or have a photo?

We are looking for a cake for husband when at RPR. I have emailed RPR but not had a response yet. Interested to see n anything you find out.

I'll try to find a pic (it was on my old laptop). The cake was smallish (served 8 I think), and I was able to choose the icing, cake and filling flavors. My DD is a chocoholic so the filling and cake were both chocolate, but since she loves Ravenclaw we went with a vanilla/white icing to allow the colors to be bright. Her cake had a cute scarf pattern, with the Ravenclaw crest. IIRC it was 2 layers. I am almost certain the cost was under $100 (thinking $85), but I know the one we were supposed to have for last year was quoted at $125. We never received it, so I can't explain the price difference or even tell you what the cake looked like. We have also had one for my son that was Hulk themed. It wasn't anything fancy, just the Hulk colors, double layer, peanut butter and chocolate with white icing (decorated) and I think it had a modeling chocolate coaster piece. The price for my son's was $85 as well. Sadly we don't have any pics of his. All of our phones were dead o_O

I know the girl I spoke with 2 years ago was awesome. She was very helpful and upfront with any additional costs.

RPR has a

yes this is a known site that many staying at rpr use
order it and they set it up in your room.

can't find the thread where it has the background of rpr and pictures next to all products you can order.

cute items with different themes for the selection

I would really like a proper birthday cake( 5 of us)and 3 kids who would like Daddy to be able to blow out candles!!

I have emailed the RPR twice with no response. I found another email address online and got a response immediately from the Portfino conceige who said that the RPR were having issues with my email address, so I now passed on my work address and hopefully will get a response from RPR now. Thanks for ur help

That looks lovely belt and just what I was hoping for. Do you mind me asking how much it cost? Did you book it pre arriving? Thanks for sharing.

Thanks to all that have chimed in. I will definitely check with the hotel once the trip is booked and I have a better idea what our plans are. Unfortunately, my friend's birthday is our last full day in Orlando and there is only two of us, so I don't want anything huge (or frankly, expensive).

I looked at a bunch of menus for the table service restaurants and was a little surprised to see that very few (if any) offer slices of cake or cupcakes as a dessert. My friend also can't have dairy so anything ice cream is out of the question. I'm hoping that Toothsome might be open by the time we go (end of October/beginning of November) and that they might have a viable Plan B is I can't get something custom.

RPR or PBR?

I have no idea on price, someone else paid.

Here are some special room menus, I just don't know how current they are.
