Birthday Cakes in room AKL?

Hello!

My son will be celebrating his birthday while at WDW & we will be staying at AKL.

Is there anyway to order a cake and have it delivered to our room?

I know other deluxe resorts have this option, but I wasn't sure about AKL.

If so, who do I need to contact??

Has anyone ever had a cake delivered to there room or an AKL resturant. Was it good??

We're getting a cake for our son at the Crystal Palace lunch with Pooh and Friends. The concierge is arranging all that so it's easy enough if you paying those extra bucks. I suppose you might try calling room service before hand to see if you can arrange something through them. I believe our cake is being made in the bakery and then delivered to the restaurant so I guess such would be the same getting a cake delivered through room service.

I will call AKL and ask them if this is even a possiblity, If not, I guess I can order him a cake at the parks. I just didn't want to have to carry it around if we didn't finish it.

Maybe they could do a cake with zebra stripes. That would be a unique birthday cake.

The cake in my signature came from AKL. I ordered it through concierge so I don't have any information as to its "birth". It was a very moist and yummy cake! We had another one just like it during Easter for my son's birthday and it was equally as good. I am sure if you call AKL's guest services they'd be able to find out where it was baked and how to order one!

It was delicious! Each one of them we were literally eating for days! It is a very tall cake. I can't remember how many layers but it was at least four with a thick white cream between each one. During Easter, DS received his birthday cake while this July the trip was DD's graduation present. Both cakes were "labeled" in chocolate on the display board either Happy birthday Danny or Congratulations (which you see in this photo). Plates, cloth napkins, and silverware accompanied the cake to our room. It was a wonderful addition to both of our last trips!

I was in #1hockeymom's suite when the cake was delivered. It looked YUMMY! What an incredible cake (for an incredible family!).

Now I am hungry. Why did I even bother reading this thread? My refrigerator is bare. Oh, woe is me!

I got the same cake for my birthday...it WAS yummy. Although, DH had arranged for it to be delivered on my birthday...AFTER our California Grill dinner...needless to say, we weren't hungry for it. But it made a GOOD breakfast! heheh

I have a picture of my cake somewhere...I'll have to search for it...but it was very cool - all zebra stripy like!

By any chance, do you remember if you got to choose the type of cake & filling or did they just have a standard kind??

Another poster was looking for information about a birthday cake for her Mom. They will be staying at AKL. Do you have to be staying in Concierge to arrange for this? And if it isn't too much trouble how much did the cake cost. Looking to help a newbie; and I don't have the answer they need.

Thanks in advance for your help! The cake looks fabulous! I wish it was here right now! My birthday cake hasn't arrived yet!
