Birthday Cakes for Dummies?!

I have not been to DL since March 05 for a highschool band trip, before that it was YEARS since I have been to WDW, I was little little.

I am taking my DDs to DL for my oldests 4th BDay in February and want to surprise her with a cake.

How do I go about this? Do we have to eat at a resort restuarant or can we choose a sit down place in park? We are staying off site about an hour away because we are doing Sea World and SDZoo too while in Cali.

Does anyone have an updated list of cake options? I found a few older ones while browsing. Also how far in advance do I need to make dinner and cake reservations?

Any Disney dining location that takes reservations offers birthday cakes.

Reservations can be made upto 60 days out. Unless you are going on a super busy day or need a very specific time you can make reservations a month, week or day ahead of time. There is no hurry.

Another (usually less expensive) possiblity you may want to consider is to do Vons order online and have it delivered to your hotel room--along with the birthday cake.
