Can someone tell me how big a deal will be made of my son on his 7th birthday? Can we order a cake or a special dessert? Will he get extra "face time" with Mickey and the crew? Can I do all this through my TA or do I have to do it myself thru DCL?
Our child had her birthday on the Wonder last week. We told our server about the birthday in advance. On her Birthday, the head server and our 2 servers come over and gave her a birthday cake and we all sang HB. We nothing else in advance.
We are taking our DD on a birthday cruise this weekend. We let them know when we made the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday so our servers could bring a cake out. You can also order a stateroom celebration for $30.00. They put 3 decorations in your stateroom and a small cake.
We have celebrated several birthdays on our 7 DCL cruises; they tell you let them know when you are booking of any special occasions--- they have your birthdates on the reservations, but I always tell them to mark it in the reservation. Last time, on my son's 15th birthday, they brought out every dessert on the menu and a cake with a white chocolate replica of the Magic on it and CMs sang happy birthday. No additional charge or cake, etc. But they already knew it was his birthday. We also did a birthday basket from Shirley for in the room. She lets you custom order them for your child's interests, etc.
Oh, MacBassett! I've heard about these "baskets by Shirley" and I have the website and phone number. How far in advance would I need to call, do you know? We don't sail until the end of May.
