I am heading to BCV this November with my daughter, my sister and my niece. We will be arriving at BCV on the monring of my niece's 8th birthday. Does anyone know where I can order a small cake for the occasion? Can I order one from the Boardwalk Bakery?

I have also heard that if I inform BCV that it is her birthday, she will get balloons and a card from Mickey. Do I call MS for this or call BCV directly? Do they still do this? I would pay for it...

Thanks! Can't wait to celebrate at WDW! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

the BC has a restuarant - so you can probably call the front desk of the BC and order directly from them. might have to transfer you to the restuarant.

If you have your own transportation, you might want to consider either the Winn Dixie or the Publix grocery store that is near by. You would probably get a lot more cake for your money.

For all of the speedy replies!

Duh... I didn't think of getting a cake at my grocery stop on the way there. She wants a Mickey Cake... but I am sure if it is not, she will survive! I was thinking about getting her the Kitchen Sink at Beaches and Cream instead! Might be more exciting!

I will call the BC a couple weeks before our arrival, and let them know of her birthday, and just plain ask if they have anything special to offer. She "gave up" her birthday party this year for the opportunity to go to Disney - so I still want to make her day birthday-ish.

Yeah - tough life... Disney for your birthday! :)

I would strongly recommend ordering it directly from the Beach Club. I called the Beach Club before we checked into BCV and spoke with someone in room service/catering. They have a standard selection of cakes that they can do. They all sounded delicious, but I went for the chocolate cake with butter cream icing, which was filled with custard and fresh strawberries. :D It was absolutely the best cake I've ever had!!!

They have several sizes available. The smallest was $30 and the size I got was $40. I know that sounds like a lot, but believe me...it was so worth it. I requested that it be in the room upon our arrival, and it was. It was set up on the table complete with table cloth, plates, forks, knives, streamers, hats, horns, balloons, and a card with about 15 Disney characters (signed by them ALL!).

I couldn't have asked for a better surprise for my DD. The presentation was beautiful. They even asked what colors I wanted her cake decorated in. The cake was so big, that I had to call room service to bring us a couple of boxes to store the leftovers in the fridge. Guess what we had for dessert for several nights? ;)

Let me see if I can post a pic...

You can also get a nice cake at the Boardwalk Bakery...just a short walk from the BCV. They can do anything that you want...cake flavors, filling flavors, decorations, etc. If you call the Boardwalk main number they can connect you to the bakery.

TNMomof3 -
Wow! Thanks. That looks wonderful - and your daughter is just radiant! You are right, a bit on the pricey side, but what a wonderful surprise it would be! And by the look on your daughter's face, it was worth every penny!

TnMomof3 - good pictures!!! your daughter looks very happy.

I was thinking of doing this for my mother for the up coming trip - how far do you have to call in advance?

On our first trip as members in 1993 my niece's birthday was the day we arrived. I called MS before we left and asked for suggestions and they were able to order a cake for us. It was in our room when we returned from dinner. The cake had Mickey on it, the card was signed by Mickey and Minnie, Mickey paper plates & napkins, balloons, and party hats! (MS had also made dinner PS for us at Chef Mickey's then at DD-had a great time!)
In 1993 I think it was $25, but well worth it for the look of delight on her face and everyone else's as well.
TNMomof3 your picture brings back fond memories!
:)
