Birthday cake....

What kind do you get on your bday every year and why? For the last two years I've gotten Italian rum cake. It's SOOOOO good!!! I use to get carrot, but that kind is more easy to come by than Italian rum. My bday's on the 16th of this month and I'm going to get a quarter sheet italian rum with purple and pink roses. YUMMY!!!!!!

I either get the traditional yellow cake with that disgustingly sweet and delicious white icing or I opt for a real ice cream cake. The ice cream cake is usually chocolate ice cream and vanilla cake with chocolate icing. Yummy! I've never heard of an Italian rum cake. I guess those aren't popular around here. Happy Birthday!

DH always gets a cherry pretzel torte from his mom. I usually get whatever DH gets for me. Last year it was an ice cream cake from Coldstone. In years past, DH has had his mom make ME a cherry pretzel torte.

Everyone in my family gets a canolli cake (with rum of course) for their birthday! They're very easy to find here, but maybe it's just the area that I live in? Very good though! It was my mom's birthday yesterday and we had one.

Now I want a piece! I hope we have some left...

I don't usually get a birthday cake... but last year, my Mom had a cake made for me with my baby picture on it!
It was so pretty. I don't even remember what flavor it was!

Today is my birthday! I requested (and DH made for me) brownies that were undercooked by 3 mins so that they are gooey, with chocolate frosting. Talk about my chocolate fix for the year! Yum yum!

Well, growing up it was usually ice cream cakes from Dairy Queen (YUM).

This year and last year, DH has made my cake. I think it was strawberry this year and white this year (I like plain white cake).

This year I actually had 4 birthday cakes, which was definitely a personal record. DH's family had one (plain white from the store-his sister was going to make one but she found a MOUSE in her kitchen that morning and was WAY too disgusted) for me when we went there. I had to work on my birthday since we had a HUGE concert at my venue. My dad works there too, so he brought one in for me. My other coworkers had already ordered one from a local Greek restaurant. THEN I had the one DH made me. FUN BIRTHDAY!!

Marble Cake with Buttercream Frosting and rasberry filling. Dairy Queen used to be here and it would be icecream cakes. Since they went out I haven't found one that I love - they ruined it for me.

Describe this italian rum cake. A friend brought over a cake that was yellow, had black walnuts, and coconut in the frosting and I thought she called it some sort of italian cream? cake. I can't remember but it was sooooo rich and fantastic!

The italian rum cake that I always get for my birthday (including my mom) is a traditional white cake with rum filling, rum frosting and almonds sprinkled on the side. Only 9 more days until I get to have it!!!
