Birthday cake question.

Has anyone every ordered a special celebration cake from the Portofino Bay or Royal Pacific? They start at $35.00 and I was just wondering if it's worth it? TIA

I have ordered them at PB for my son and my husband. They were BEAUTIFUL!! They tasted great and fed the three of us with leftovers for several days.

I wish I had taken a picture but the one for my husband was a work of art! I just told them he loved chocolate and to use their imagination. It was three of four different types of chocolate with a chocolate mousse filling. It had flowers and vines on top and going down the sides. Very nice!

My sister ordered a cake for us from the HRH and it was great . My DD loves rollercoasters and it had a rollercoaster on the cake . We ate it for 2 days too . The taste was really good we give it a good big .

Hi Macraven! We are all chocolate lovers here too. If staying at PB I would call and ask to speak to the head chef there (Herve) I LOVE this man, he is wonderful. I am telling you this cake was beautiful- it was tiered like a wedding cake - I was really surprised by it! We had dinner catered as a surprise for hubby and son in our suite. The chef showed up also and he brought Scooby Doo to play with our son. Very nice surprise.

I was very surprised when there was a knock on the door and Scooby was there Our son loved him! Just found out today we are headed back to PB for a combined Father's Day/ Birthday trip! My 50th I hope my husband remembers that cake(hint- hint...)

I don't know the cost my sister paid for it as well as balloons and t-shirts for my DD and her friend from the HRH . I know she was on the phone with the conceriage (SP?) for over 45 min setting it up just the way she wanted . I know that after the check in the next morning we went to say hi to him and his name was Joe he was great for anything we needed .

The cake was really good and this from the woman who doesn't really always like birthday cake .

How does this work? Do they deliver it to your room at a specific time?

We are staying at PBH for DD's 8th b-day and I'd like to order her a cake and balloons, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it.

I called the resort directly (407-503-1000) and spoke to the chef. He asked what time we wanted it delilvered and if we wanted to be in or out of the room when it arrived.

Tell them what you have in mind - they will work with you. The cake they made my husband was the best we have ever had and it was beautiful!
